Here is the nudity from season one.

28 Years Later is part three of Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic saga begun in 28 Days Later. It has, in fact, been more than 20 years since the first film. Critics were impressed (88% at Rotten Tomatoes), and the box office has been sturdy ($70 million domestic, $150 million worldwide so far).

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped from a biological weapons laboratory. Still living in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amid the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of them decides to venture into the dark heart of the mainland, he soon discovers a mutation that has spread to not only the infected, but other survivors as well.

Imagine that World War III is about to break out and a group of billionaires takes refuge in a luxury bunker: Kimera Underground Park. Through screens, they’ll watch the bewildering spectacle of the world they knew collapsing above their heads. As the situation outside becomes increasingly terrifying, they’ll enjoy an underground city with basketball court, restaurant, zen garden, cocktail bar, psychologist’s couch, gym and spa. Their ancient privilege will be reduced to a life adapted to a luxurious hole, an underground universe full of enigmas where a wound from the past will explode between two conflicting families.

There are quite a few sexy situations in the series, but almost no nudity.

This is a small-budget film written and directed and by former cinema wunderkind, Luc Besson, who is now 66 years old. (How can that be?) It was shot on a smart phone, and was supposedly filmed guerilla-style, without permits, during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns in L.A.

Why is the former hot-shot working on minor efforts like this? Besson has fallen from grace in the industry for two reasons. First, he faced a rape accusation in 2018 from an actress who worked in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Second, Valerian (2017) and Anna (2019) lost money.

The story of John, a man who leads an ordinary life with a monotonous routine. His existence flows away dull, and he himself makes no effort to change anything; on the contrary, he does everything to continue being an ordinary man. One day John runs into a woman on the subway who is as beautiful as she is mysterious. His encounter with her finally leads him to have a goal in his bumptious life: to love June to the end of his days and at any cost.

Because one of you is bound to raise the question, I’ll note here that I think the author of that quotation misused “bumptious.” Or maybe I misunderstand what he’s trying to say.

Helen asks him if he is ready for a baby which he resists and suggests they rent out their cottage house instead. She rents to Derrick, a businessman. She begins an affair with him and her life spirals out of control in a very unexpected way.
