They indicted James Comey for posting a picture of some sea shells arranged to form the numbers 8647. That’s not from The Onion. It really happened.
There’s no point to expect these people to understand logical thought, but for the record:
1. Jack Posobiec once posted an 8646 meme in Twitter. No indictment. Gee, I wonder why. I suppose you’d also have to indict Jeff Bezos for selling these.
2. Under no possible definition of “86” could it be interpreted as a threat. In restaurant parlance, it means “we’re out of, so remove from menu ….” (“Waiters, 86 the asparagus”). In bar lingo, it means “cut off service.” (“86 the guy in stool three. He’s had enough already.”)
3. When out of office, Donald Trump has posted REAL violent images of then-President Joe Biden.
Any sane judge will dismiss this instantly, and there’s pretty much no doubt that this will eventually get Todd Blanche disbarred. In a perfectly just world, it would also result in criminal charges against him or a massive lawsuit, but we do not live in a perfectly just world. The concept of prosecutorial immunity is almost impossible to overcome. It is difficult to prove that a prosecutor acted with malice and outside his authority. It is a weakness of our legal system that corrupt prosecutors almost never pay for malicious actions, and when they do pay, the punishment is light.
That was true even in the most blatant case I can recall, the prosecutor in the Duke lacrosse team case, a man who withheld exculpatory evidence from the defense, and brought a rape case against at least one kid he knew to be innocent from irrefutable evidence. He got off easy. He was found in criminal contempt of court, was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, and spent one day in jail. He was disbarred, as Blanche should be, but his other punishments were basically a slap on the wrist for actions that could have sent an innocent kid to jail for life.
Any case against Blanche will hinge on whether he truly believes that 8647 is a crime. There will be an argument that he does not, unless he also attempts to indict high profile people who posted 8646. For one example, influential conservative commentator Jack Posobiec tweeted “8646” in January of 2022. If Blanche brings an indictment against Posobiec, then he’ll be able to argue that he genuinely believed 8646 and 8647 to be a crime, and therefore did not deliberately bring a false indictment. (This case would not hinge on whether 8647 is really a crime, but on whether Blanche honestly believed it to be, and therefore brought an honest indictment.)
HINT: They are not crimes, and in my opinion, Blanche is smart enough to know that.

Comey could hire Homer Simpson as his lawyer and get the case tossed out.
Even Lionel Hutz could have knocked this one out of the park.
“Your honor, I request a directed verdict of ‘boys will be boys’.”

Freedom of speech in near absolute in the United States, and contrary to what some people believe, the President does not have greater legal protection from threats than anybody else. What the President does have is that threats are checked out faster if not immediately, but the same law applies to everybody, and it’s an extremely high bar due to freedom of speech.
There has to be a credible threat that may even have to be imminent.
You are absolutely correct. But Trump neither knows nor cares, and his underlings do whatever he wants done. Up to and including starting wars. I think we need to deal harshly with them when Trump no can no longer shield them. Forgive and forget doesn’t work, because all they remember is getting off lightly.
When Orban lost, I thought maybe we’re veering away from the stupidest timeline. I guess not.
At least Europe made some progress. And Bolsonaro is in the hoosegow.
The rest of the world – not so good.
Bolsonaro is in jail, but the one who took his place in Brazil is even worse, or just as bad lol.
Oh, well. Brazilian leaders are like the weather in Texas. If you don’t like them, just wait a few hours.
At least they no longer have a coup of the week like the late 1960s.
That’s true, including some of these scams in Latin America sponsored by our wonderful and ever-kind Uncle Sam lol
For a while there, the CIA was interfering in every election or change of leaders in the hemisphere, much like Russia does now in its orbit. Today’s times are crazy, but the times of the anti-Communist panic were not much more sensible, if at all.
In a world where people who “Act Blue” have tried at least 3 or 4 times now (and maybe as many as 7 or 8) to kill DJT, perhaps some overreaction to public threats is understood. If liberal loonies would stop trying to kill the President, maybe the people who are publicly calling for (and hoping for) his murder wouldn’t have to fear having their 1st amendment rights trampled on.
Please provide a list of these “liberal loonies” who tried to kill Trump.
Is it longer than the list of people who tried to kill Obama?
Give me a fucking break you hypocrite. Dear Leader has been a psychopath suggesting or calling for violence as being justified to support him since 2015:
– He celebrated Mueller’s death.
– He responded in remarkably callous fashion to the murders of Rob Reiner and his wife in December.
– Despite complaining about the left making Nazi comparisons, he in 2017 compared the intelligence community to “Nazi Germany,” and in 2024 called former President Joe Biden’s team a “Gestapo administration.”
– Despite complaining about the left calling him a “fascist,” he spent years using that word against his foes.
– He made light of a hammer attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband that left him with a fractured skull and other serious injuries.
– He mused about “Second Amendment people” blocking Hillary Clinton from appointing judges.
— He reposted video of a supporter saying, “The only good Democrat is a dead Democrat.”
– He reposted a message from a supporter warning about people rising up to “physically fight” for Trump.
– He praised a convoy of supporters who dangerously surrounded Biden’s campaign bus in 2020.
– He praised Montana’s governor for assaulting a reporter.
– He has repeatedly raised hypotheticals in which his supporters rise up in justified violence.
Every part of his campaign since 2015 has been grievance culture and justifying force against enemies, so don’t give me this bullshit about who does what. Everyone with a brain knows where this started, and the only ones defending it are anonymous idiots like yourself who are literally so far gone that your actual identity on the internet is Trump because you can’t think for yourself.
You can’t fix Trump zombies with logic & facts, because they don’t have functioning brains to begin with. In 2016 they elected a raving maniac instead of Clinton mainly because he made such a huge deal of her alleged security breach. He ended up storing top secret docs in his shitter next to his gold toilet. He warned that there’d be $4 gas with her, and look at the prices under his presidency. He organized a deadly insurrection when he lost in 2020. He’s a convicted felon for sexual assault. He’s torn apart the White House to refashion it in his image. He wants his face on money. He posts images of himself as Jesus.
None of it means anything to his legion of zombies. If he started using nukes to destroy the world, they’d justify it by saying he knows more than God, and just let him do what he’s gonna do because he’s an iconoclastic maverick who can out-think the Almighty.
He’s a playground bully, a psychotic kid playing with tinkertoys and jerking himself off over his power. Most of his bullshit decisions will be reversed when they take his toys away. And then the mindless zombies who support him will finally fade away, unless they wanna worship Vance as a substitute Trump, lol.
Agree with your points, and really no one is going to change their mind from an opposition view on the internet. I get that, especially a group of people deep in a cult surrounding themselves in media that agrees with them constantly.
I don’t even think that should be the goal anymore, I think the definitive goal should be to peel back the layers and expose transparency on ultimate motives.
There’s no introspection, logic, or causality in the MAGA movement. Grievance, spite, wrath, anger, and reactivity are the cornerstones that try to be whitewashed in a wrapper of ‘plain spoken telling it like it is to save America.’
You’re not going to convince these people, but you can take the mask off for what they really are: a cult service a psychopath who is addicted to a persecution complex wishing to consume infinite resources and adoration for his ego. His rich supporters are the same way, and the ones that aren’t believe they’re temporarily disenfranchised future Trump’s thinking they’re a lottery ticket away from riches and power.
Distilling that down, their only philosophy is service to self and fuck everyone else, and they should stop pretending that its anything else and take the mask off.
Agree with the various commenters who say I’m pissing into the wind trying to reply to your feelings with fact. Still, here goes – Butler guy mainly wanted to be famous, Orange Julius was just the next name politician coming down the pike when he felt that way. Florida Man: total MAGAt. So that makes *one* lib who’s come gunning for him (plus, I understand, the other ones in your imagination). And [citation needed] on anyone calling for his murder. If it was anything like as bad as you say, you wouldn’t have to make shit up.
GFY extremely hard, Maga2028. And never stop.
Utter moron,
@scoop Yeah, I agree that things were much crazier back then, lol. I’m younger than you, I didn’t experience that era the same way… However, a quick study of history can quickly prove that.
This DOJ is going to put The Onion out of business with their unintended satire. J. Edgar Boozer said it took 11 months to get around to this because they were throughly investigating the matter…. one photo of shells on a beach, case closed.
That’s exactly what Alex Jones wants. He claims to have some legal advice that the Onion purchase was illegal and he is an injured party (like all right-wingers, he is always an injured party). It’s probably as stupid as the Comey 8647 indictment. I do not doubt Jones’s ability to excel in that regard.
There’s a YouTube video about it by Rebecca Watson, if you’re interested.
There are clauses for threatening the president after 3 attempts on the president there will be prosecutions.
Threatening the President of the United States is a federal felony under 18 U.S.C. § 871, punishable by up to five years in prison and significant fines. It is illegal to knowingly and willfully make threats to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm on the President, Vice President, or successors. These threats are investigated by the U.S. Secret Service.

Key Aspects of Laws Against Threatening the President:
Definition of a Threat: The law covers “true threats,” not merely political hyperbole, idle talk, or jokes. A “true threat” is defined as a statement that a reasonable person would interpret as a serious expression of intent to harm.
Scope of Protection: 18 U.S.C. § 871 applies to the President, President-elect, Vice President, and other officers next in line of succession.
Former Presidents and Candidates: Threats against former presidents, major presidential candidates, and their immediate families are prohibited under 18 U.S.C. § 879.
Intent: While the threat must be made “knowingly and willfully,” the perpetrator does not necessarily need to have the actual intent to carry out the threat for it to be a crime.
Legal Precedent: In Watts v. United States, the Supreme Court distinguished between political speech and true threats, ensuring the law does not violate the First Amendment.

Investigations are conducted by the Secret service
This case clearly does not meet the criteria.
If Comey can be indicted for an 8647 post due to the allegation that 86 obviously means to kill him, then I expect indictments on every person and corporation who made posts or products with 8646 to also be indicted and prosecuted.
I know it is silly to repeat a logical point for those who are incapable of logical thought, but if 8647 is a crime, then so is 8646.
As soon as they start rounding up all the MAGA supporters who posted 8646, especially Posobiec, then we’ll believe there is a non-political case against Comey.
(Obviously, there is no case against any of them.)
Please tell me how “8647” forms a threat of violence and not advocacy for impeachment or defeat at the ballot box. And have it make rational sense. You can look rationality up in a dictionary or Wikipedia. Lotsa luck.

Almost feels like there was a bit of favortism in a past DOJ
That or these people…committed crimes, maybe?
So these people committed crimes but James Comey indicted 2x by a grand jury NOT THE DOJ couldn’t have possibly
Simple answer: the party that cares only about power, money, and anger actually turns out to be more corrupt. Are you dense or stupid?
And lets not forget it isn’t Republicans because before 2015 this was never an issue, remember that? Ah because a black man was elected, you morons went fucking nuts off the deep end and started this shit.
Do something better with your time. Like lay down on a highway.
Why does he have to choose between being dense or stupid? I think the odds are that he is both. Unless he is a paid troll. In which case he’s just human garbage. Although now that I think of it, he could easily be all three. It’s like that Monty Python “Spanish Inquisition” sketch, isn’t it?
I doubt he has a snappy red uniform.
Are you saying the FBI just rolled up and put handcuffs on people without a grand jury indictment?
That is a bold accusation to make without any sort of proof for the claim (and yes, it is the responsibility of the person making the claim to provide evidence of it – absence of evidence is not in fact actual evidence)
There’s a simple way to find out whether that was a political persecution
8646 – Posopiec not accused
8647 – Comey accused
So there are two possible interpretations
1. Either Comey did nothing illegal.
or
2. Posopiec did something illegal
There is no other possible argument.
So, when they bring up Posopiec on the same charges, I’ll believe that it was not political. Until then, you have no case.
(Here is a hint: neither of them did anything illegal, nor did the thousands of people who posted 8646 memes when Biden was in the Oval.)
—————-
Of course the key point was made above. All of those people you mentioned committed crimes. Some of them committed very serious crimes, and did so in public.
Indict somebody for breaking a law: not political
Indict somebody when no law was broken: political
As I mentioned, Blanche will almost certainly be disbarred for this. In a just world, he would also face serious civil and criminal consequences.
now show me how many assassination attempts on 46 vs 47
You don’t seem to realize when an argument is irrelevant. The actions of other people are not relevant. Only the actions and intent of Comey and Posobiec.
I’ll repeat the main point again.
The INTENT and MEANING of 8646 and 8647 must be exactly the same. If 8647 means “kill Trump,” then 8646 means “kill Biden.” If 8646 means “remove Biden” (impeach or 25th or ballot box), then 8647 means remove Trump in the same way.
Therefore:
1) If Blanche convenes a grand jury to indict Posobiec and/or Jeff Bezos, the Comey indictment will be proved non-political. (By the way, Bezos also sells tons of 8647 material.)
2) If only Comey is indicted, then we will know it is purely political.
We’ll be watching for those indictments.
Of course, the Comey indictment will soon get tossed by any competent judge, so I guess it doesn’t matter.
At this point, the person in trouble is Blanche. Comey’s charges will go away, but Blanche will face malicious prosecution charges sooner or later, in front of the bar, in court, or both.
Difference being, Trump has worked really hard to *earn* peoples’ hate. Biden sucked, but he wasn’t aggressively, intentionally evil.
Biden is your loveable, clueless old uncle who maybe forgets to flush, but slips you a few extra bucks for your birthday, or plays pinochle with you for money, knowing he will lose. Trump is your prosperous but vicious uncle who spoils Thanksgiving with racist tirades, then carries off all the leftovers in the Tupperware he brought from home. Which type of uncle did the fsmily hate?
As much as the wackos tried to gin up a case against Joe Biden, he was and remains a kind-hearted and honest man who loves America and its institutions. Of course, that doesn’t mean he should have been President. Those are better qualifications for hosting a beloved kiddie show than running the free world. Fred Rogers had the same qualifications, but that didn’t make him Presidential material.
Biden has many flaws. He was not particularly bright when he was young, and he basically became a dotard in the Oval. He never should have been President, which was when he rose to his level of incompetence, but the Democrats couldn’t seem to come up with a better candidate. In fact, his sheer bland inoffensiveness is probably what carried him through the primaries. People bristled at more aggressive candidates, but just thought Good Ol’ Joe was safe. I think history will probably value him as below average, but not at the bottom. He wasn’t a bumbling Andrew Johnson or Buchanan, because he had some positive accomplishments, but he perhaps fell below average because of his passive response to various crises.
To me there is a very great difference between Biden and Trump that can be summed up in a single comparison.
I once wrote that the biggest difference between Stan Musial and Ted Williams was character. Musial was applauded on the road and Williams was booed at home. I can make a similar kind of comparison between Biden and Trump that has nothing to do with the competence of the two men. As with the two ballplayers, the difference between the two politicians is character. If Joe Biden had to choose between what was good for him and what was good for America, he would choose what was good for America. If Trump had the same choice, he would choose what was good for Trump. We all know that. Even Trump’s allies know that to be true and will say it in private.
Whether Comey “could possibly” have committed a crime at some time in his life – sure, anyone might have, no matter how straight they appear. As Buster Scruggs said, “Don’t let my white duds and pleasant demeanor fool ya. I, too, have been known to violate the statutes of man… and not a few of the laws of the Almighty!”
But whether Comey committed a crime in the two indictments they have brought: obviously not.
Yes. The truth of this is demonstrated by the Ken Starr investigation of Bill Clinton. Supposedly Starr was investigating Whitewater. In reality, his brief was to find ANYTHING Clinton had ever done that he could be prosecuted for. And all Starr came up with was Monica Lewinski. When the GOP proceeded to impeach Clinton for perjury on the basis of his deposition about her, I knew the Republican Party had become irretrievably rotten. They have done nothing since except prove me right.
@Roger – Yeah, they wanted to find something to prosecute him so badly, they basically caused it to exist with their investigation, and it was questions about something so outside the scope of the investigations that they only asked because they already knew the answer and hoped he’d not tell the truth about it.
Anyone COULD have committed a crime, Comey just did not. That shell picture, come the fuck on. I forget the details of his first arrest, but it was almost as laughable.
OTOH, Bannon, Manafort and Navarro went to prison. Trump and Nauta clearly, obviously guilty. Was Little Rudy arrested? I think he was just disbarred. I don’t know specifics of all these others, but anyone who did any of the 2020 election tampering – the fake electors etc. – yes, lock their asses up. Pretending we have significant election fraud is bad, going into court and bullshitting about it is a waste of time.
Sol Wachtler, when he was Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals said “you can indict a ham sandwich.” Convicting, or even getting to trial is another matter.
Assclown von Fuckface’s nipples will explode with delight at seeing Comey inconvenienced again. The process is the punishment.
Yeah, the famous DoJ record – nearly 100% conviction rate – seems to be suffering lately.
and some of these people were arrested not indicted
If they were convicted, there HAD to have been an indictment. Lemme know when you finish 6th grade and we can have an intelligent discussion.
Googling a few of these names it seems these are mostly people involved in the Fake Elector scheme to subvert the 2020 election.
Why was 8646 afraid of 8647? Because 864789
8675309?
