Uncle Scoopy's world-weary musings about naked celebrities, sports, humor and other important, manly things.
Many of these were better than the ones she used: Some of the best lines: – If Adrian Brody could go back in time, he would thank Baby Hitler for his career. – Nicolas Cage is here, and so is the band of skeletons that follows him, playing ragtime jazz….
Artistic, multi-generational drama from Germany. Original title: In Die Sonne Schauen (“Looking at the Sun”) You probably have never heard of this art film. but many critics have declared it a masterpiece, possibly the greatest German film since Metropolis. It scores 95% at Rotten Tomatoes (no popcorn score yet, but…
New series based on the Grisham novel. It seems like a strange decision to create a series based on a novel already covered by a Francis Ford Coppola film with a first rate cast, especially on a middle-of-the-road network (USA) that is likely to make it as bland as possible….
I had no idea Esquire was still in business.
Does Esquire still have a “cover”?
The intergoogles says that they still publish a print edition bi-monthly, but I would have no idea where to find it. I do pop into Barnes and Noble once in a while, and that would be my best bet, but I never look at the magazines.
I didn’t know there was still a Barnes and Noble.
We have one in my rinky-dink town, so there must still be hundreds of them.
Esquire is one of those periodicals that’s just a pale shadow of what it used to be (Sports Illustrated, TV Guide, Reader’s Digest–damn near every magazine of long standing, really).

As of now, the AARP magazines are the only ones that are still healthy.
And newsstand sales seem to be almost non-existent. I read that newsstand sales are now only 3% of the industry.
Follow-up. I looked this up. There are about 600 B&N outlets and they carry between 1,500 and 2,500 magazines. I should look at their selection. I had no idea there were 2,500 magazines still being sold at newsstands. WTF can they consist of?
Maybe that’s 1500-2500 actual copies of the magazines, lol
Probably mostly nearly nude women!
My money’s on crossword and other puzzles, but I’m just basing that on the magazine rack at my supermarket.
