Good grief. It’s like a civil war between idiots and morons these days. There are real people suffering and dying in this world and this is what people choose to get worked up about? Honestly, humanity is doomed.
P.S Porky Pig wore shorts in Space Jam and no one gave a shit. Why? Because it doesn’t actually matter.
Doesn’t pass the smell test. As a certified member of the woke crowd, I can testify that none of us would object to Porky having no pants. This has all the hallmarks of an attack by the Christian right.
I think this was meant to be satire but in today’s climate deadpan humor is dangerous.
Cracked.com is a comedy and satire web site … so take the article with a grain of salt.
Cracked has a comical take on the news, but they are not The Onion, meaning that they generally don’t post fake stories.
This one is completely factual. In the earlier Blu-Ray compilations, Porky was naked below the waist, and then was covered up for the combined set for volumes 1-4. The company has offered no explanation. You can blame it on the woke posse, or the Christian right, or most likely, just a staffer grabbing a stock image from Warner’s catalog.
It is, of course, much ado about nothing. Porky was seen with pants in several cartoons. starting in the 1930s: (Porky’s Badtime Story, Tick Tock Tuckered and Brother Brat). The image on the Blu-Ray, with the white shirt and light blue pants, looks like Porky in Brother Brat (1944).
Honest question, as I’m not familiar with the Looney Toons short films from that period to a fault. Did Porky wear clothes in any of those later movies?
Because if he did, then this is much ado about nothing…
Like most things these days (people not bothering to educate themselves and being faux outraged over damned well anything)
But ignorance is bliss, especially when if comes to pantless animated pigs, I suppose…groan
Just found my own answer, took all of 5 seconds with no outrage needed…
“Porky was seen with pants in Porky’s Badtime Story, Tick Tock Tuckered and Brother Brat.”
I’ll go back to my corner of the world were we don’t politicize everything and use cartoon pigs as a agenda hit piece (I’m not pointing fingers at you Scoop, just society in general who’ve lost their damned minds…)
I don’t get it. Why did you repeat all the same points I made two hours ago in response to the same post in which I made those points?
Probably because I didn’t read your post, so I apologize.
And a lot of the time I notice you edit your posts to add extra details in later, so it could be I skimmed something that didn’t have the information earlier that you added later.
If that’s incorrect, you can let me know, but you and I both know that happens.
Want to clarify because it’s bothering me, I did read your post (skimmed it), but don’t remember seeing those hyperlinks, otherwise I wouldn’t have re-posted my comment after my search, if I overlooked it, then I apologize, if you added it after the fact, then it stands as it is, that it was added as I was looking into it
Either way, there wasn’t any ill will intended, been posting here long enough that you should know that.
If I type responses on the same page you use, I do have to add hyperlinks after the fact because of a glitch in the Word Press comment system. That usually takes me – maybe a minute, maybe five. But my point was that the comments are timed by the system. I last updated my comment at 9 something and you posted almost the exact same comments at 11 something. That’s where I got confused – because that final version of the comment had been there for two hours when you posted.
?????
Still don’t get it.
