What can you say? For guys born in the 1980s, this is their equivalent of Phoebe Cates in “Fast Times.” It was our scene of the year by a vast margin, garnering more votes than all of the other entries combined.
Film clip. (It probably won’t stream, but it will download.)

That nude scene was GOLD! Thank you Sam Raimi!
Right? especially since he has NO other naked women in his movies, Bridget Fonda in Simple Plan was baby bump prosthetic
Just unreal. I can’t express what a huge deal seeing Joey nude was. In such a well lit scene too! Yeah.
Just an absolute masterpiece of filmmaking, IMO. This is the only time we came close to nudity from Ms. Potter. A true watershed moment.
So I do have one question: any chance the shots where Katie’s face isn’t clear are BD? I can see her agreeing to flashing her scene partner (Greg Kinnear, the luckiest sunovabitch alive) but maybe not to being a corpse being pulled from water…?
I haven’t ever read anything about that. To be honest, nobody really cares about those shots, so the topic hasn’t really come up.
Anybody happen to know?
Everything about this is wild. That a simple topless scene was so popular, and that she never showed so much as an ankle again.
She supposedly shot a topless scene in an earlier film that was cut out. I believe it was Disturbing Behavior. Then she was set to star in Factory Girl, but Cruise convinced her to drop out saying it would be bad for her image. She clearly was always up for more, but the feeling in Hollywood for quite a while was that top actresses should avoid nudity. Thankfully, that does seem to be going away in recent years.
Tom Cruise… what a cock-block although “Factory Girl” was a shit film.
Sienna was cute in her nude scenes & did look like the character, Edie Sedgwick, but yeah, awful film on a great subject – Hayden Christensen as Bob Dylan?? I mean they changed his name in it but that’s worse than the Chalamet casting
The reason they changed it was because of legal reasons. Bob Dylan refused to have any involvement or mention with the film while Lou Reed also took a massive shit on it for valid reasons.
I like Guy Pearce but he was a terrible Warhol. The only person that truly captured the nuances of Warhol was David Bowie. That’s because Bowie knew Warhol and hung out with him.
The gift that keeps on giving.
The complete opposite of the Holocaust
People: I laughed
Thanks for that sweet 4K gift! 😁
SO much to give thanks for this year. Would I go Scientologist for that? In a Xenu-hugging heartbeat.
Am I missing a link to the 4K scene? Or do we only have stills?
I added one. I’m always a little hesitant to post 4K clips because I haven’t found a place that will consistently stream them successfully. But if it won’t stream, you can download it and watch it on your computer (or phone if it can handle 4K).
