The dictionary defines cult as “a group with misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.” Given that, there might be one very big name missing from the list.

“6 People Whose Lives Were Destroyed By Social Media”
This list is not especially good … but I’m posting it for two reasons: (1) I object to the use of the passive voice in the headline. These are six people who destroyed their own lives. The first five made the posts that disrupted their lives. The last guy did…
Norwegian scientists theorize that buttholes once had a different purpose.
“Once a hole is there, you can use it for other things,” zoologist Andreas Hejnol told Michael Le Page at New Scientist. I have told my girlfriend the same thing. She disagreed. Damn science denier! Share via: Facebook X (Twitter) LinkedIn More
20 of The Most Influential Images of All Time
Just the usual bland list, but I enjoyed the memories. We all know that I’m a total wuss, but I still shed a tear or two every time I see the picture of John-John saluting his father’s funeral cortege. Share via: Facebook X (Twitter) LinkedIn More

The main symptom of TDS is thinking you don’t have TDS. 😂
Trump completely owns you.
Note there is no mention of Trump here. I was thinking of L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology, perhaps the most influential cult in history. But if you think MAGA is a cult, we have to respect an insider’s opinion.
Honestly, Donald did kinda own me in intramural sports at Fordham.
The main sympton of idiots who use the term TDS is not realizing that they’re brain-dead.
Seriously, two entries for Heaven’s Gate but no L. Ron?
You can’t spell tedious without T D S. Also, the title of the list says ‘leader’. Rumpy Boy leads MAGA in the same way the carved wooden lady leads the sailing ship.
Ironic everytime I see TDS I almost immediately think it’s LDS/Mormons because I’ve never seen the term elsewhere. I have to actually research whatever the cult comes up with as terms they think are funny and everyone knows, and the fact you automatically thought this article was about Trump proves the point. When someone is hawking and masses of people are buying a specific person’s brand of Bible’s or variations of it, it’s about as cultist as it gets.
Along with Trump, I would of course throw in L Ron, also the South Korean Moonies group, and Raelians. Although the Raelians haven’t done damage like MAGA has.
In addition to what you and scoopy both said, these brain-dead Trump cultists use ‘TDS’ and similar lines as if they’re in a cult.
It’s also interesting that none of them can argue on the basis of anything positive that Trump has done, but can only throw out these mindless insults as a defense.
If they have to get Mormons in the list I’d replace Lungren with Warren Jeffs… ruined far more lives
An overly America-centric list. It leaves out Shoko Asahara who was behind the Sarin attack in Tokyo in 1995. And, probably even more strangely it leaves out Sung Myung Moon, who I guess used his wealth (taken from his followers) to be called by the mainstream press a ‘religious leader’ and not a ‘cult leader’ which is the accurate description.
Finally, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh terrorized a town in Oregon for several years in the early 1980s.
Agree, definitely the Moonies…who can forget the mass weddings! and the Oregon cult that took over a whole town and tried to assassinate politicians

I was thinking of Fred Rogers and his cult neighborhood!
