   1. That would have been a good one to include. It’s one of the images from my lifetime that immediately evokes the emotions of another day, and a spate of related recollections, like John-John saluting his father’s funeral procession, or the distraught woman at Kent State. (And many more)

      That photo is, according to the interwebs:

      The actual first store called “WAL MART” was opened in 1962, so the article seems to have taken several similar stories and jumbled them together.
