From BBC: American Lindsey Vonn became the oldest skiing downhill World Cup winner at St Moritz in Switzerland on Friday (December 12th). Doesn’t anyone find it strange that a population of millions can watch men perform without shirts and think nothing of it, but then find it highly unusual and practically dangerous when one woman does it? I know if women do this enough these people will be reprogrammed quickly enough, but it does seem to indicate something disturbing about human nature. The ability to take something completely inconsequential and turn it into some kind of national debate. At least legally a lot of things are changing because I was tired of stories of people hearing about girls flashing at rock concerts so they’d call the cops to send them over to have them arrested. Happened in Mass about 10 to 15 years ago. Pot and gambling were illegal then too. A lot of things appear to be changing.
It’s a remnant of male religious control, lately replaced by political male control, at least in “first world” sectarian societies.
Everyone should spend time at a nude beach. The average person spends around 10 minutes fretting about whether or not they can disrobe in public. Then they feel uncomfortable because they are the only one with clothes on. Then they disrobe or leave. Shortly after that, they lose the discomfort and start to consider the new places that sunblock is required. When you are surrounded by bare breasts and more, it loses it’s hold. The “Free the Nipple” movement has it right, as far as dealing with the toxic gaze.
Conversely, anything made taboo becomes irresistible.

In regards to women flashing at concerts that was substantially more common 20+ years ago. Take a look at European beaches decades ago when topless was the norm compared to today where it has mostly disappeared. The only thing that has changed is the opposite of what you imply.
I wasn’t speaking about the amount of nudity on beaches at any particular time. I was speaking to the effect of being at a *nude* beach where nudity is expected. The titillation fades and one begins to deal with the human underneath the skin.

Sorry, I may be missing some context here, but was anyone protesting against this topless concert? Or are you saying that it is a sign of progress that nobody was?
