That was a tough year. Mimi was a mature woman and had done previous nudity. She lost to two young women whose nudity was in demand. Nobody was going to top Milano in that Vampire thingy and Berkley in Showgirls, so Mimi went as high as a 40ish woman could go.
“40ish?” Why so imprecise?
We’ve been through this many times. Mimi claims to have been born in 1956, but she has publicly admitted that it’s bullshit.
“When I ask cautiously whether January 27, 1956 is the accurate date of her birth, she gives me a mischievous look and says, coyly: ‘The day and month are right, but the year isn’t. Let’s just leave it at that.'”
I do know now that the date is only off by one year. On July 13, 1965, she won a swimming competition in Tucson for girls 9-10.
Therefore, if she was not born in 1956, it must have been 1955, since she could not have competed in that event if she had been 11 or older at the time.
Nobody seems to know what Mimi did from 1966-80. A search for Miriam or Mimi Spickler (her name at the time) at Newspapers.com produces no appropriate hits at all after her 1964-1965 swimming championships. A search for Mimi Rogers (her name after her first marriage) produces no appropriate hits from 1976-1980. She disappeared from the globe for 15 years until she turned up in a 1981 episode of Hill Street Blues. There are no mentions of her in summer stock or community theater or anything else. Her own claim is that she labored in patient care and social work.
In our annual polls for the best nude scene, Mimi topped her 1995 third-place finish with a second-place performance about a decade later by doing full frontal and rear nudity when she was nearly 50. She finished second in 2004, for The Door in the Floor.
