Haitian immigrants are eating pet cats in Springfield.
I tried to figure out where that idea came from in the first place.
Possibilities:
(1) The Springfield News-Sun reported that it may be linked to a viral post in a Springfield Facebook group. The original poster did not cite first-hand knowledge of an incident. Instead they claimed that their neighbor’s daughter’s friend had lost her cat and found it hanging from a branch at a Haitian neighbor’s home being carved up to be eaten.
(2) Trump claims he saw somebody from Springfield say on TV that his dog was missing and immigrants ate it. That could be the source if such a clip exists, but it appears that it does not.
(3) I guess I was wrong. Somebody on FARK found the missing TV clip, proving that aliens are eating cats.

(4) There was a viral video of a resident of Springfield claiming before the town’s council that immigrants in the community had killed wild ducks (ducks, not dogs) from a local park for food. Although there was no evidence to support this, and it has nothing to do with pets, it was shared widely through the nut-o-sphere.
PERSONAL NOTE: If any of you out there really are duck-killing-and-eating immigrants, and are willing to kill and eat other wild fowl, please consider moving to my town. We don’t have many ducks, but the effin’ geese have completely taken over the area. We are so overrun that I believe we could feed the entire immigrant population for free.
(5) There was a recent incident in which an Ohio woman was accused of killing and eating a cat, but
- It took place in Canton, about 200 miles from Springfield
- The woman, Allexis Ferrell, is not an immigrant. Canton, Ohio police spokesperson Dennis Garren said in an email: “The suspect in this case is not a Haitian immigrant. She is a life long Canton resident.” Birth records show that she was born in Ohio in 1997.
(6) Some 16 years ago, a certain Texas-based blogger remarked that there was a cultural gap between native Texans and Chinese immigrants about the meaning of “eating some chow.”

And yet . . . questions about his fitness (for anything really, but especially for President) will be muted.
Amazing how easily Harris managed to trigger him, just hurt his ego and he was completely off-balance for the remaining debate. I bet it was so effective because it was done by a woman, I doubt Biden could have done it.
For what it’s worth, there are stories about Chinatown cooks using stray cats to make Char-Siu Bao.
And there was a case a few years ago about a group of Filipino workers who stole and ate someone’s dog at a golf course.
So it happens.
That 2008 joke from Other Crap was based on a real story about Chinese cuisine. (Chinese, not Chinese-American).
The Chinatown stories are anecdotal, although I did once eat a couple of Char Siu bao that were rather crunchy with lots of cartilage. And when I think back, no one else was eating them. It was a friend’s birthday party and her father was a cook.
Geese are nasty — and fast. Props to anyone who can catch one. And really, points for ingenuity if you’re family in hungry.
True. I had a whippet who just loved to charge into a flock of feeding geese. Whippets are way faster than humans, and can corner better, but she never caught a goose. That said, the geese always scattered. If I walked my 190-lb ass near them, they’d stand their ground and threaten me, but they were not going to challenge my 30-pound dog.
This seems to be a real thing. Residents are apparently flooding Fox News with calls after seeing it get hand waved away
When proof comes out in a day or two, I fully expect the media to completely ignore it, as is their way.
Fox news should be flooded …
btw, 7 of my cousins went to Springfield HS 50/60 yrs ago 😉 Digressing.
And what happened to their dogs and cats?
Well, here’s what we know for sure.
1. There have been no reports of missing dogs or cats being eaten in Springfield.
2. There was one such report in Canton, but the woman who did it was born in and has always lived in Ohio.
3. Trump lied when he said he saw “people on television [saying] ‘My dog was taken and used for food.’” No such reports exist in the media databases.
4. One local did complain to the local government that immigrants were killing wild ducks for food. I suppose that could be true. It at least makes some sense.
No, no, didn’t you read what he said? “This seems to be a real thing”. Trust me, bro.
Fox went into court and stood up for their first-amendment right to outright lie. That right is real, but exercising it makes them a shitty news organization. It does not make their lies true.
Yes, something will come out in the coming days and however sketchy it will be called “proof” by Fox. The real media will completely ignore it, as it is bullshit.
Fox admitted to lying straight to the faces of the people who watch it, while knowing that they were spreading lies, and the dupes still watch it and believe them.
it’s been a day or two… where’s that proof?
Well, duh. Obviously, it came out and the media completely ignored it, as is their way.
As proven time and time again, Trump’s lies do NOT in fact, need to be believable
You know, now that this cat or dog eating business has become an issue, Trump supporters will probably be out there catching cats and dogs and cooking them and scattering their remains around to provide “proof” for Trump’s claims. I’d keep Rover and Mittens on a short lease for a while. And I hope they don’t develop a taste for the stuff, but if they’re already eating possum or nutria or raccoon or whatever, anything’s possible.
I hadn’t considered that possibility before reading your comment, but now that you mention it, it sounds like a real possibility.
At a debate with over 60 million viewers, which could very well be a major factor in determining his fate, a psychopathic maniac, who was literally flop-sweating his orange off, suddenly screamed this: “They’re eating the dogs! The people that came in—they’re eating the cats! THEY’RE EATING YOUR PETS!!”
Even better, his defense for it was, “But I saw it on TV!”, which he said TWICE. What better entertainment is there in watching this clownish buffoon sink his own ship?
In a week, he will be denying he said any of this. And his cult will believe him.
And then he’ll say, “I was talking to a dog. Big dog. Strong dog. Dog who never cried in his life. And he said, with a tear in his eye, ‘Sir, they ate my family, and you’re the only one who can save us from these evil foreigners.'”
And his followers will believe that as well.
Spot-on. And I love how in his imagination, everyone calls him Sir instead of the much likelier Asshole, Shithead, or Fuckstain.
There was an occurrence in a town near my town but it was a swan. I think it Was regarded as a wild, waterfowl pet by the town.
My understanding is that there has been one person eating pets in Springfield, Ohio and it places her recent book into much greater context: Kristi Noem.
