This thriller is based on an eponymous novel. (That link contains total spoilers for both the book and the movie.) The book was a massive success. It sold more than two million copies, was on Amazon’s best-seller list for 83 weeks, and on The New York Times trade paperback best-seller list for 60 weeks.

Looks like once again Syd got very naked on set but they got cold feet in editing and hid as much as possible
The link is not working for the moment. But hearing that Syd was nude at all in the film is certainly good news, even if she is maybe not showing as much as we would want. Mind you, I should be careful what I wish for, because if I ever saw Syd full frontal, and especially if she were to have full bush, it might be more than my heart could take (though I would die happy)
Anyway, I saw a review of the film today suggesting that it is reasonably good, in a campy sort of way. Sounds like some worthwhile holiday viewing.

Pretty much the closest thing we have to a modern Pamela/Anna-Nicole. She’s pretty much Playboys last hope at becoming relevant again beyond the bunny symbol.
She’s the kind of actress who, if she were to fail in Hollywood—and that will happen someday, probably in the isan’ t distant future— Sydney would definitely pose for Playboy or something to get back into the media spotlight and into the public eye, or maybe even start an OnlyFans account.
That could happen, because everything she does is calculated, but an alternate fate is for her to follow the Caren Kaye path – go back to school, get a PH.D. and/or excel in a field where her brains have some value. Remember, she was the valedictorian of her class, and is basically a nerdy girl who happens to have a spectacular figure.
I doubt a lot of that, buddy lol. But yeah, it could happen… In terms of possibilities, it could. However, I consider it much less likely.
I hate to be a downer but these scenes have the staging of a body double, except for the one short clip where you can see her nipple and face in the same shot. Maybe there are some longer nude shots that will surface that have her face shown.

Why would she use a body double for one shot in the same scene and not the other? I think it’s just more likely it’s bad direction/editing. Not like Paul Feig is know for his great visuals.
Buddy, I can guarantee you that she did everything herself, without a stunt double. The problem is that the recording is really bad, obviously the quality is terrible. But yes, her face is in all those scenes where she’s naked.
And the Zapruder film obsessives start in with the conspiracy theories – “Get a life, people”
I like to call em “Negatards”. Just trying to piss on everyone else’s corn flakes to make up for their own pitiful lives.
I’m curious where all the footage that was shot and then cut in the editing room goes. If they save it somewhere in a vault or its literally scrubbed permanently at some point. The only leak I can remember from that type of material is a screengrab of Jennifer Aniston’s topless. Having access to that material and unused photography of celebrity photoshoots in Playboy or elsewhere would be like the holy grail, Im surprised so little has ever been leaked. Guessing because it wouldn’t be difficult to track down the few amount of editors with access.
In general, given the shear amount of footage and outtakes– both films and photoshoots– there must exist of a whole slew of actresses, I’m surprised in the here and now that more of it isn’t leaked regularly. Hell, just the uncensored footage of reality shows like Naked & Afraid alone…

Back in the before times Playboy had their year in review but with behind the scene shots from on-set photographers, who were just part of the crew! Shots that never even made it into the finished movie! No fucking closed sets!! This is why the 70s were the best decade for movie noods
Then there were the DVDs with deleted scenes, where they would bolster sales with extended nudity.

My thoughts exactly. Was it too much to ask for a girl-on-girl scene with Syd and her co-star Amanda Seyfried? How did they miss that opportunity? Damn. Well, at least Syd showed her money-makers. I doubt she’ll ever do a full frontal.
Could’ve topped the 2025 nude ranking by beating Jennifer Lawrence, if she had shown some hint of labia. This scene reminds me of a similar yet better scene of Anna Paquin in True blood.
My wife asked if I wanted to see The Housemaid. I said “yes”. Bless her. We will probably go tomorrow, or maybe in the week between Christmas and New Years.
My wife and I finally saw The Housemaid this evening and enjoyed it. It is trashy, campy fun in a thriller style that was more common in the 1980s and 1990s. There is also a fair bit of female revenge fantasy thrown in, and some class commentary as well. But the film ultimately does not take itself too seriously – indeed, aspects of it are intentionally comedic. The movie almost certainly would have had more nudity in it if it actually had been made in the ‘80s/90s, but still it offered some and with El Syd making the offer, I will take whatever I can get. She really sells her sex scenes, as brief as they were. Further, even with their clothes on Ms. Sweeney and Ms. Seyfried look just great. It is well worth seeing if you at all like this sort of thing. The movie theatre was absolutely packed – more people were in the audience than I have seen for a long time for a (non-festival) screening.
