Aimless country girl Bobbie Jo Baker abandons her carhop job to join Wild West outlaw wannabe Lyle Wheeler for an adventure in theft, mayhem, and murder.
It’s the 50th anniversary of this film. That seems like a good time for another look.
* Marjoe is still alive, but he looks a little different now, at age 82
* Wonder Woman Lynda Carter has aged much better, but she’s eight years younger.
Here’s something I didn’t know until now:
If the IMDb chronology is correct, Lynda did this sleazy low-budget AIP movie AFTER the pilot film for Wonder Woman had been filmed (but before the film aired or the series began). The details are hazy. Bobbi Jo was filmed in August and September of 1975. I don’t know exactly when the Wonder Woman pilot was filmed, but it was aired in November, 1975, so I suppose it may have been filmed before Bobbie Jo, assuming it took more than a month to put it together. One thing is certain: by the time Bobbie Jo was released in 1976, she had already been seen as Wonder Woman!
