Netflix series about the family that built a fortune on drinkin’, and a world-wide reputation on measurin’.
The consequences of the death of Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his cunning will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the growing juggernaut that is Guinness.

I am all for “gratuitous female nudity”. We should be able to sue IMDb for false advertising if as you suggest the series fails to deliver.
I can’t say for sure. Maybe there’s a scene where an extra is nude somewhere. I just don’t have time to pore through every episode for that sort of thing. If anyone watches this series, tell me what IMDb is talking about.
I went and checked, and the tags are “gratuitous male nudity” and also “unnecessary male nudity”.
Ah, good. Somebody deleted the “female” one. (Both male and female were there yesterday.) I’m glad I don’t have to spend more time looking for it.
I wish IMDB would not allow such opinionated content. The parents guides now often have very opinionated content specifically in the sex/nudity sections with references to maze gaze, objectification, gratuitous, unnecessary, etc. I remember they used to emphasize that opinionated commentary was not to be posted in the parents guide descriptions.
Where does that opinionated content come from? Is it crowd sourced on IMBd or does it represent the work of people who work for IMBd? I don’t know how the site works.
Regardless, I agree that it comments like “gratuitous” are not needed. I joked about that word earlier in this thread, but addressing the issue more seriously, it seems judgemental and even prudish. Who makes the call if nudity is gratuitous or not, and based on what criteria? And even if it were gratuitous, is that necessarily a bad thing requiring a warning?
Galligan love scenes with Norton. Some love scenes with Niamh McCormack, but no goodies seen. I would’ve liked either Emily Fairn or Ann Skelly who were in shows I liked & are each cute in some way. Not that Galligan & McCormack aren’t rather good-looking.
FWIW (since it hasn’t been explicitly mentioned here), the male nudity was lead character Arthur Guinness played by Anthony Boyle who was in a bunch of shows I’ve seen. He stood up in a bath tub stark naked with dick hanging out dead-center of frame, butler looking on. I won’t say it didn’t serve an artistic purpose, but it did stand out from the rest of the scenes in the film. As did Galligan’s love scenes. She was Arthur’s beard wife, agreed-on terms of loveless cheating. Which as she’s kind of the devil, she does fall in love with her lover & pretends to acquiesce to breaking it off but quietly arranges to keep it up. Since power corrupts people, don’tcha know. Something like that.
JamesO@ IMDB is Amazon, big leftist company. These TV series and movies are only watched by one very vocal group of people, those with gay-feminist views; most of society doesn’t care. I stopped paying subscriptions to streaming platforms; for me, a straight guy, there’s nothing to watch on these platforms. Most open-minded people have also stopped paying and watching these new works of strongly leftist culture.
Historically people on the right wing were more apt to disagree with and suppress depictions of nudity and sexuality and that is the still case, even if there is a misguided minority on the left who also try to do it, albeit for different reasons.
I’m getting pretty tired of left/right as universal explanations of why things are. I have so many friends who dogmatically follow the money & stop looking for motivations once they track down a source of it. Yes, money is often a motive, but there are so many ways it enters the picture: glory, jealousy, revenge, depression, these details are what makes the story a story. Money by itself is an unsatisfying, boring answer. Well, the left/right polarization likewise explains everything under the sun, all while explaining nothing. In most cases, the real explanation is that people are just acting like sheep. Bah bah black sheep.
When I think of leftism I totally think of tax-evading, union-busting capitalists who donate to conservative politicians while directing their newspaper to further capitalist causes.
While you’re angry about seeing the occasional dick you don’t notice your pocket being picked. I think that’s an LBJ quote.
I been wanting to see this chick’s tiddies since Shadow & Bone. They looked nice & big in that show.
poor effort to give female nudity netflix
Can you put the video in 1080p?
Added.
Thank you
Chinney, the opinionated content does indeed come from public contributions to the content. I once bumbled across content additions that had mainstream actresses appearing in a well known XXX movie, courtesy of some clown with a throw away account.
I pointed it out to imdb staff who explained that they had some algorithm that was supposed to prevent it, but some slip thru. It was corrected right away.

Well I guess that makes it more defensible. We are each entitled to our individual opinions, even if I myself disagree with descriptions of nudity as being ‘gratuitous’.
