Danish drama. Translation: “Our Vow” or “Our Promise”
Maria, a former professional swimmer, apparently lives a happy life. She has a good job as a sports commentator on TV. She’s so popular that a publisher wants to create a biography about her path to the top. She is married to her former coach from her swimming years, who has since advanced further in the world of swimming.
Everything is idyllic until the bomb goes off: a new novel written by another former swimmer who committed suicide. The novel describes how, at the age of 15, she was subjected to her coach’s boundless advances and seduced into an affair with him. That fictional coach seems to represent Maria’s husband.
