I don’t really get the argument that Saldana’s scene in Lioness was a “minority pick.” It was a well-lit, fairly lengthy shot of a well-known actress’ great ass, something she hadn’t previously shown on film. Certainly one of the best butt shots of the year, if not the best.
But it’s not really much of a nude scene. It’s just the same thing we could see at the beach if she wore a thong. It was not even the best nude scene in the series this year – by a long shot. I will basically run a separate list for Cates and Mirren. I’ll list them when I assemble the top 20, but in their own category. There’s really no precedent, so I have to create a new rule of some kind. The closest we ever came before was when we saw Prozac Nation years after it was filmed, but that was a totally different situation, and I don’t know how else we could have handled it.
I guess I would have to do the same thing if, for example, we suddenly saw Sally Kellerman’s lost nude scene in Venus, or Charlize Theron’s topless footage from Cider House Rules, or Aniston’s topless scenes from The Break-Up or Wanderlust. They’d just have to be off in their own corner.

I just ranked my top 10 or so (actually 11) of scenes that I thought were notable. Based on the results so far, my views mostly do not correspond with general opinion, but that is ok. That is, except for one scene – and I will be asking, when the time comes, how that scene possibly could be ranked so high, because I must be missing something about it.

It should be the best scene of 2024, but people vote as if it were “the best scene featuring the most famous actresses who got naked in 2024” and take into account the popularity of the actresses, and not so much the quality.

Despite our testosterone, there’s a reason why the usual slang for this topic is Celebrity Skin. The “celebrity” part is every bit as much at its core as the “skin” part. Personally, I see the qualification gate of “are they celebrated?” as by far more salient than “nudity quality”. I can look at porn all day long. It’s a dime a dozen commodity. Being a celebrity, OTOH, is a slippery spot that’s hard to reach & especially to maintain. Yeah. I think it’s absurd that Nicole Kidman is in the position she is lol. Yes, her scene in Babygirl was a pleasant surprise, she hadn’t been naked in films and series for a while. But, she’s clearly there because she’s Nicole Kidman, that’s all… there were many better scenes than hers and with prettier actresses with better bodies in nude scenes.
On the contrary, celebrity is nine tenths of the law. Comes to pretty & better body, fuckem. There’s a fuzzy line somewhere, sure, but IMO, a Michelle Randolph or a Leila George, newcomers are rare exceptions to the rule.
Just saw the Dylan biopic ‘A Complete Unknown’. A few flaws, but a pretty good movie overall and, for me as a Dylan fan, ultimately very enjoyable. Dylan is portrayed, warts and all, as a talented asshole. Anyway, no nudity in the film unfortunately, but Monica Barbaro comes so close, and then gives us about 5 minutes of serious pokies in a t-shirt while wearing panties down below, so I think that she should get honourable mention in this year’s nudity roster. If she actually had given us a good nude view in that scene, then I would almost certainly have voted it #1.
I liked the film a lot. Maximum music, minimum fluff. Edward Norton was incredible as Pete Seeger, other performers also excellent. I’ve not been a Chalamet fan, but he won me over.

There’s no runaway favorite this year. Based solely on first-place votes in the prelims, nobody reached 10%!! (The winners often reach 25%, Rollergirl topped 40% for Boogie Nights, Katie topped 50% for The Gift.)
My surprises so far:
The prelims showed a tremendous amount of support for the relatively obscure Nataly Rocha, Sofya Sinitsyna and Kristina Kreile, so people are paying attention. All three of them were deservedly high, and stayed close to all-square against favorites like Leila George, Margaret Qualley, and Mikey Madison.
I definitely underestimated how much people wanted to see Ali Larter topless.
I definitely miscalculated people’s taste for fake boobs. I thought Margaret Qualley’s prosthetics and Ali Larter’s bolt-ons would cost them, but people seemed to ignore those factors. Which is OK, I guess. It’s really what’s on the screen that counts, not what goes on off-camera.

As I said, seeing the initial poll results, I did not see a lot of surprises, including the fact that this year there was no run-away initial favourite. The question that I did have though was why Genesis Rodriguez In Lioness ranked highly – she was first at one point and while the rankings changed a bit later, I think that she still finished third in the initial ranked poll. I am not all that familiar with her or with Lioness, but as far as I can see the nude scenes for which she was ranked highly were pretty low-key, brief unrevealing ones by a fairly ordinary actress in a moderately popular streaming series. Where did the high ranking come from? Is there something that I am missing?

It was a good scene and even unusual, but it doesn’t even compare to emma stone in poor things, by any means, Emma was even revolutionary in her wild nude and sex scenes in that film. and to mention that Jen Lawrence wasn’t completely naked in that scene, she was wearing panties, which were later digitally removed in post-production and it was also a very dark scene
What is your source for the claim that Lawrence wore panties?
Firstly, her Merkin in this scene is very poorly made, it doesn’t look like a real Merkin, like Emma Stone’s in Poor things, it was a much better made Merkin. Typically this indicates CGI, it doesn’t look like a real Merkin. And second, you may notice, despite the lighting of the scene being dark, you see some contours around her waist that indicate digital alteration in the Image. And lastly, some guys on Reddit confirmed this too.
As for Emma Stone in Poor Things, whether she wore a merkin was not officially disclosed by the makeup designer – as is usual for such potential disclosures, they are not made – but I doubt that those scenes would have allowed for merkin, even a very good one, without it being pretty obvious. That it was the real thing seems to have been suggested indirectly by comments made by Ms. Stone and seems to be the general view of comments online.
So no first person confirmation from the editors or anyone on the set?
I did see some Reddit stuff last year, but upon closer inspection, I realized the “place where her panties were” was, in fact, just her tan lines.
I agree on pretty much all points. The music was surprisingly excellent given that it was, I understand, performed by the actors – or at least in the case of Chalamet as Dylan and Monica Barbero as Joan Baez and whose performances were highlighted. In achieving success in that way I am reminded of the great way the music was done in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, some years ago.

As for Emma Stone in Poor Things, yes… It was a very well-made Merkin, very realistic. And this was confirmed in an interview with a woman who worked on the production of the film’s wigs and Merkin, and the only actress who gets naked in Poor Things is Emma Stone, so it only makes sense that it’s Merkin for her character. And as for Jen Lawrence in No Hard Feelings, the guys on Reddit said that there was other evidence of Merkin’s CGI, it wasn’t just the issue of the mark on her waist, there was other evidence that they mentioned, but I don’t don’t remember exactly.

I have no opinion about Jennifer Lawrence, but I think that your point about Emma Stone is dubious based on what I read online and the evidence of my eyes. I won’t belabour the point though.
Can you point to that interview? I just read several interviews with the woman in charge of hair, makeup and prosthetics on Poor Things, and none of them mention merkins, and all of them say the movie had a “no wigs” rule (apparently Emma Stone never wore a wig in the movie, just hair extensions), so I’d like to know who you’re talking about.

I also don’t think she should qualify, because she has prosthetic breasts. But let’s be honest, nowadays we don’t even know which scene was edited or not, which one is using prosthetics, CGI, AI or things like that. I thought Mikey’s scenes, especially the sex scenes, were very good, but her nudity is not good in this movie because it is very poorly lit. What put Mikey in the favorites is the fact that it was her nude debut and she is a rising star in Hollywood. But, there were many better scenes than Mikey’s this year, Nataly Rocha was better and much bolder, Katrina Kreile, Demi Moore herself, Margareth Qualley and Emma Stone were bolder in Kind of Kidness, Emily Atack was braver considering that it was a full frontal debut in a very random scene.

Mikey Madison is very sexy in Anora, but there’s no comparison to the scenes with Qualley, Demi Moore, and even less so with Leila George. Madison’s nudity in Anora is poorly lit most of the time, her sex scenes are actually good and quite realistic, but the nudity itself isn’t that good… What weighs on her is the fact that she’s making her nude debut, from what I can tell.
I voted for Mikey, just because it was such a bold nude debut, with multiple scenes stripping and having sex. Personally, I don’t see how a scene featuring prosthetic boobs can even qualify (nice ass though!)
Nothing really caught my fancy this year for some reason. I voted for Emily Atack, because it’s an outdoors tennis-playing ENF. My second would have been Nicola Coughlan. To me all the others were kinda meh, even if they were famous. There was nothing really daring or unique about the scenes.
The votes were somewhat evenly scattered, with no single favorite. I noted earlier that the winner often tops 25% (of the ballots cast). It does not appear that any scene will be much higher than 10% this year. There was youth. There was fame. There was daring. There were debuts. There were great individual scenes. But there was no entry that combined enough of those elements to form a knock-out punch.
The single scene of the year is Qually and Stone together from Kinds of Kindness, but they’re split in the voting.
I am glad that Nafessa Williams got some love from a few people beyond just me. Her smile alone was worth the vote, though she obviously also has other assets. .
She did look absolutely beautiful in that scene in episode 6. As you mentioned, her smile is electric.

Well, Qualley’s vote likely comes from people liking her ass which hasn’t really been featured to this degree (arguably it should get third billing in the film). Also, her pubes, (which we’re all familiar with by now, but still). Plus, she’s cute as a button, which helps. I’m fine with it, but then again I’m baffled by winners that are just topless scenes. Everyone has their own priorities. Hence the voting. And the (slightly) unpredictable outcomes.
True. The only frontal nudity in the TOP 5 is the Katrina Kreile scene (which should be first position).
I think there’s a difference between aftermarket parts and special effects. With aftermarket parts the woman is still naked or at least seen. With CGI or prosthetics, that 3 boobed woman from Total Recall could’ve won, or Jessica Alba’s shower scene in Machete.
People vote for what they see. In the case of Margaret, they liked what they saw.
And after all, the heading on the top of the poll says to vote for the best SCENE, and that’s what people did. I can’t really dispute the fact that this was the best scene. I might have voted for it myself, if I had not known about the movie trickery. I think I placed it second in that rank-order exercise.
But I’m being a hypocrite, because the scene that I voted for – the scene that I felt was the very best of the year – was also filled with .cgi, so I was just like everyone else. I voted for what I saw.
One guy here says that J-Law’s scene last year was also filled with digital manipulation. Frankly, I don’t care. It was still my favorite scene. I would have voted for it even if I had heard that in advance and had fully believed it.
I was the guy who said that, Scoop haha. But I agree… I understand people who only vote for what they see. Because, I repeat what I have already said in other comments, nowadays there is no way for us to guarantee that there are no Prosthetics involved in a scene, CGI, AI and tricks of that type. We only notice these tricks in the most blatant and obvious cases. But there’s no way to be sure of that in every scene.

Its not something that I have a preference for but it makes her nude scene something of an oddity. There’s not a lot of times where nude prosthetics are used to make her resemble another actor playing the same part.
In a way I view this an award for a nude character which just happens to be portrayed by two separate actors.
Actually, I don’t think so. Breast prostheses, like Margareth Qualley in The Substance, normally the actress is wearing a bra or a type of jumpsuit and puts the prosthesis on top, sometimes CGI is also involved to give a better and more real impression of what the person would be like naked. It depends on the actress’s choice
If you ignore the prosthetics, it was still pretty good and well-lit look at Margaret’s actual bush and butt. She was also scantily clad and looked great throughout the entire film so not surprise she won.

Katrina Kreile really almost pulled it off! Nobody knew about her until right around Christmas time and she still ended up just 8 votes behind first, speaks both to how great they were and that there wasn’t a consensus top scene with a mainstream actress this year.
Also nice seeing Sofya Sinitsina have a good showing in the final results, Russia delivered some fantastic scenes in 2024. I still think Ellina Bandeeva’s scene from Cicadas was 2023’s greatest nude scene and clear winner for best FFN scene, but it came out in Russia in mid-December and got lost in the shuffle. She’s gonna go down as one of the sexiest actresses with great nude scenes most won’t ever have heard of.

Seems crazy that Nicole Kidman gets 8 votes for an out of focus butt shot when she has been very naked in at least 10 movies and Zoe Saldana didn’t even get 2 votes and had a great ass scene and never has shown virtually any skin in her career….

I realize I’m late to the party, but I finally had a chance to watch completely that 15 min video of Leila George in Disclaimer you uploaded and I am at a total loss as to how she didn’t win this thing going away. Wowzers. She has some awesome nudity in long, well-lit scenes and she looks real good that way, to say the least. And while she’s not famous herself, she comes from famous Hollywood celeb parents, including a mom who, back in the day, was prominently featured in celebrity nude sites like this one. I mean who looked better naked than Greta Scacchi in her prime? Greta passed the baton on to her also beautiful daughter. This was SO MUCH better than Andie MacDowell’s daughter’s prosthetic tits!
