I suppose you might wonder why I spent some time on this nearly-forgotten 1987 film. It’s not an especially good film, and the nudity is not spectacularly good.
Well, here’s the deal. I was watching episode 4 of Furious, and I saw in the credits that it was inspired by Black Widow. There certainly are similarities. Both involve a workaholic female FBI agent named Al hunting down a female serial killer named Catherine who keeps switching identities to prey on older men. That may sound as if the stories are similar, but they really aren’t.
* The Emmy Rossum version of the FBI agent has some severe psychological problems. For example, she finds random hook-ups on the internet and asks the guys to rough her up. The Debra Winger version was just a brainy computer nerd with little social life.
* The Lola Petticrew version of the killer is getting revenge for abuses she suffered when she was sexually trafficked. The original Theresa Russell version was just a scheming mercenary who killed off older rich guys for their money. This seems like a politically correct change to make her actions seem to have been created by abusive men rather than her own greed and murderous impulses.
Anyway, here are the 1080hd film clips.
Tuna’s DVD album is here. I was not able to improve upon it with the Blu-Ray images.
—- Oh, yeah – there was no nudity in this week’s Furious, but there has been some in previous episodes.

Everyone looked pretty hot in those Hawaii sequences… Winger being the nerd transformed
The trend nowadays is for all villains to have a reason or a purpose. Usually they were abused or otherwise harmed by someone and seek revenge or something. I blame it on Wicked, where the Wicked Witch of the West ended up the way she was because of her skin color which makes her a sympathetic character in The Wizard of Oz (she just wanted her sister’s shoes back).
I saw Vonnegut talk one time and that was one of about four bits of advice he had for young novelists – don’t explain why the bad guy is bad, You’re just wasting ink and dissipating tension – no one cares.
Russell had a cute lil butt
Theresa Russell’s first marriage was to a man thirty years older than her. She married Nicolas Roeg when she was 24 years old, Nic was 54.
Theresa’s second long term relationship was to a man twenty years older than her. Mike Melvoin was 66 years old when she was 46 years old.
I like to think there’s an good looking woman twenty or thirty years younger than me waiting to enter a relationship with me.
I can dream.
When I was 64, I was on the verge of a relationship with a lovely woman who was 22 and wanted me. And then I realized that what I was about to do was really fucked-up and exploitational. It was a pattern that I had repeated throughput my life, and I was finally able to realize that there was some form of mental illness there, and that I had to deal with it.
I didn’t consummate that relationship, and soon formed a healthy, close, long-term bond with a woman in my own age group. I therefore assured myself that I had finally conquered my demons. I was wrong. I did the right thing, but a giant part of me wished I had done the wrong thing. That’s essentially what my novel is about, basically about how I never leaned anything from the lessons of my life.
I am now fortunate, I suppose, that the aging process has finally caught up with me, and I will have no more such temptations because I can not longer catch the eye of a young woman, or even a youngish one
.
I guess the lesson as it relates to your comment is that your hope for that bright, elusive butterfly of love might better be left in the chrysalis stage,
I’m pretty happy I stuck to my 10 year rule. (10 years younger/older than me). Never let it go too far. Dated a couple women 10 years older and that was kinda of creepy because my dad was hitting on them.
