You may not have heard of Warm Texas Rain, a straight-to-vid, but Tuna and I gave it two thumbs up as a solid genre pic. IMDb rates it only 4.6. I suppose that may be fair if you’re expecting Body Heat, but we found it to be an enjoyable guilty pleasure film. And we gave Frankie Thorn an A++. Given her education, she probably dreamt of playing Lady MacBeth, and she may have found that doing multiple frontal scenes in a cheesy erotic thriller was a degrading experience. I don’t know. But I do know that she was perfect for the genre. She was elegant and seductive; she looked good naked; and she had the acting chops to make it all convincing.

Carpet has never entirely gone away, thank goodness. I get the impression that it may be more common here in Canada, as well as in parts of Europe, than it is the United States, but I don’t have any statistical evidence to back that up. I am hoping that it will eventually return in great proportion everywhere. Happy Easter everyone!

IDK. I am pretty sure that I heard that Frankie and Johnny were lovers, and that Johnny wasn’t “true” to her, but I cannot remember who Johnny actually was. It sounds like a bit like Johnny Depp, though, doesn’t it? Maybe that’s why it stuck in my head.
