“rejection due to her looks” ??????? I guess I will have to suspend my disbelief on that if I ever see the movie. Taking a look at that picture above and doing a quick review of photos of Ms. Bellè available more generally online, I do not believe for a second that she would be rejected because of her looks.
Her character has a huge red mark on the side of her face, you just can’t see it in this clip.
It’s definitely an annoying trend where filmmakers want a character to be ugly or deformed, but they don’t actually want to cast an actor who is either of those things, so they just take an attractive actor and give them a huge birthmark.
