In the most commonly used representation of the world, the Mercator Projection, Greenland and Africa are about the same size. In reality, Africa is more than 14 times larger!

Thank you! This was very interesting. I have not owned a globe since…forever, so getting the right perspective new to me. I think the Mercator was only widely used because it was useful for navigation, somehow.
This is an interactive one that I like to use now and again.
Reminds me of this classic from The West Wing.
