Frankly, I didn’t see that much humor in this group. I can easily imagine that the people who wrote the notes are even bigger assholes than the people who parked poorly. Some of these people used pre-printed signs.
Now here’s one that was obviously done on the spur of the moment and used a little wit:
If you have pre-printed notes or cards to call people out on their parking you are definitely an asshole.
Yep. It says more about the person leaving in than the person who parked.
A lot of assholes out there but I wonder how many people get second hand shit from trying to park around a bad parker to begin with. Like when a big ass truck takes up two vertical spots, or someone park too close to the line one way or another, leaving the person trying to get in without much option. Then the original shitty parker leaves making the other person look like the asshole.
Some years ago my wife had parked in the parking garage of the building where she worked and came back at the end of the day to find an angry “Learn How to Park, Asshole!” note on her windshield. Surprised, she went around her car and was able to confirm that she was parked normally and fully compliantly well within the guidelines on both sides and at a normal ‘depth’ into the parking spot. She was somewhat disturbed by it at and remains baffled to this day why that note was given to her.
Life is full of assholes.
A couple of years ago I had a guy admonish me for getting out of my car to throw trash into an outdoor trash can at Walgreens – and it was the bag and wrapper from fig bars I had just bought there! And he just wasn’t willing to drop it. He followed me back to my car, ranting all the way.
I just ignored the guy because he looked like a homeless person and seemed to have some psychological issues, but I later thought to myself, “Even if I had emptied my trash can from home, how was that his business?” You know the guy probably got the shit kicked out of him a few times a week by people who weren’t as tolerant as I was. Hell, if I had been in a bad mood, I might have done it myself,
There is a lot of anger out there generally in society. I admit that I feel it myself sometimes. I don’t fully understand where it is coming from and wonder if it is something that has gotten worse as a society-wide phenomenon over the last 20 years. My impression is that it has gotten worse, and perhaps significantly so.
You’re not alone…it’s gotten a lot worse and now contrasts unfavorably with Europe.
My guess would be that someone, prolly next to your wife, originally earned the note and she or he just stuck it on the next car over.
I think that is a good guess.
