Marvel characters more powerful than the Hulk
I don’t know about this list, which is kind of lame, but I don’t think Hulk would be much of a match for Marvel’s strongest characters. As you can imagine, various nerds have ranked the most powerful Marvel beings. Here’s a good example. They have ranked Hulk #27, and I…

My favorite semi-obscure Aussie band the Hoodoo Gurus actually did a song about him (“Gene Hackman)”:
“He can do anything that he wants
He can do anything that he wants
Gene Hackman what a guy
He can bring a tear to your eye
Well, is there anything he can’t do?

That is a beautiful song to a legend and a rare kind of actor we will never see the likes of ever. You could put him in a bad movie and yet, you know he will bring 100% and always deliver a good performance. He never half-asses anything. An actor who can’t suck.
People always used to say that the greatest thing about Spencer Tracy is that you could never catch him acting. I think the exact same thing about Hackman, except he had even better range than Tracy.
Whenever I would think of an actor that I wish would come out of retirement, Gene was the one that would come to mind. I’m not sure the man every turned in a bad performance (even when the movie turned out to be less than stellar, Hackman was awesome), and he certainly never just dialed it in like some other very good actors. We’ve lost one of the all-time greats, so sad that it seems to have been in a tragic way.
I had the same thought, although I had apparently lost track of the years. I had no idea he was 95.
Hackman came to acting relatively late.
The report I saw said that Gene Hackman was found dead in his mudroom and his wife was found nearby and near an open bottle of pills. Workers saw the bodies and the police responded. They said that there was no smell of carbon monoxide. Police are going to do a thorough investigation.
They say truth is stranger than fiction, so here is my theory. The report I saw made no mention of any guns, but they didn’t say there were no guns present. I think it was a double homicide. Hackman and his wife were coming into the house when the dog shot them both. However, Hackman was able to shoot and kill the dog before he expired.
In all seriousness, Hackman was a wonderful actor. It sounds like he had a long and happy life since it seems his wife really loved him. RIP.
Never saw him in a movie without enjoying it. He stole every scene he was in.
