That is still a thing in Texas.
I just know that I’m not a criminal. I’m just a stoner.
Amen.

How does Willie Nelson manage to avoid arrest in Texas? Doesn’t he get stoned every day?

The cannabis industry is DYING to get going here, meanwhile the state keeps trying to arrest people for Delta-8 cbd.
Best state in the nation, but occasionally we pretend it’s 1841.
Don’t even ask about the liquor laws.
Or needing a “dance hall” license for it to be legal to DANCE in your business.
When you say “best state in the nation”, to what nation are you referring?
Okay, you got me.
We’re kinda our own country still. But we pretend for the rest of y’all so you don’t feel bad while we keep your economy running and provide everything from the best foods to the best athletes. (Check out the Olympic totals…as a country, Texas placed 7th. Out of the US, it was mostly Texas raised, based, or trained.)
Look, our state government sucks, a few of our cities have serious corruption problems and we STILL kick this much ass. Everyone is trying to come here for a reason, and it ain’t the lack of personal income tax despite what people say.
It seems to me that the ass Texans kick is largely their own, as in not having an individual state income tax, which anyone who knows much about how taxation works will tell you is NOT a good idea. (See also: Florida.) Or as in not quite having a handle on this electric power thing. But if Texans like it there, who am I to argue with them? I don’t want to have to live there, and I suppose somebody’s got to.
How do you find TX? You go west until you smell shit ~ that’s OK. Then you go south until you step in it 😮 that’s TX.
Indeed, the old jokes from the ’60s are the best! Please tip the waitresses and have a safe drive home …
“Best”, so this is a different Texas from the one where Uvalde is, right?
That’s tender subject material here. We know what happened and why, and if the entire state had its way a whole bunch of people with badges would spend the remainder in prison. It’ll never stop hurting, and it’ll never stop making us angry. All because of a handful of cowards who refused to do their duty.
She’s said in multiple interviews she really likes her weed.
Just another example, some folks in Monkey County need to pull their head out.
1 gram of weed lol. That’s probably a single vape cart in her purse.
Come on Texas. Thought you guys were all about “freedom” and all that.
I knew a woman at the Alderson Federal Prison who was initially sentenced to more than 30 years for conspiracy to sell marijuana. However, rather than being sentenced for a single gram, she was sentenced for multiple tons. Even so, most of her sentence was because of firearm enhancements. The statute under which she was sentenced added 5 years to a sentence for using or carrying a firearm in furtherance of a drug conspiracy and an additional 20 years for doing so a second time. She was given a first and second enhancement as part of the same crime. Fortunately for her and quite a few other defendants, the Supreme Court ruled that the jury instruction for the enhancement was defective, and every defendant whose jury had been given that instruction had their enhancements removed. In her case, her sentence was reduced by 25 years, making her eligible for a transfer to minimum security Alderson. Given that the prison’s fence doesn’t encircle the entire prison, inmates with more than 5 years to serve are ineligible to transfer to Alderson.
I have no sympathy for her she lost me years ago when she tweeted if you voted for Trump don’t follow me or i’m going to block you people like that I have no respect for
Just cos no one’s brought it up yet, you can probably hear Kinky Friedman’s “Asshole From El Paso” on yochube
