Have you ever wondered whatever happened to Costas Mandylor, who seemed to be in every movie in the 1990s that came from the hyphen universe? (Made-for-cable and straight-to-video.) He now has a scaled-down version of an Eric Roberts career, flying around the world for whatever work may be available to a 60-year-old man who used to be a grade-B character actor in his 30s. In other words, he gets the roles that are turned down by Eric Roberts, but only if Michael Pare also refuses them. He’s the second lead in this film, as the cop who has sworn to bring the vigilante to justice, and fails mightily in that endeavor.
As for Alona Hertha, she’s a petite woman who resembles Rosie Perez, and was a fairly popular nude model. (A Google search finds plenty of frontals from German Playboy and other sources.) As you know, 40 is 80 in nude model years, so she has seen the handwriting on the wall as she approaches her 40th birthday, and therefore hopes to expand her options by acting. She is still very trim, and there is still some demand for women who will do movie nude scenes. She plays a hooker in this film, in a sex scene that goes on for five minutes and has nothing to do with the rest of the film. (And the entire movie is only 89 minutes long, including the opening and closing credits. Hey, Uwe isn’t such a bad director. At least he knows what’s important!)
As for the movie – it’s a Charles Bronson movie re-imagined as a high-level right-wing fantasy. A very rich man decides that he is going to bring justice to everyone in an unnamed European country (filmed in Croatia) who has been harmed by Europe’s wishy-washy liberal immigration policies. He sets about building himself a private arsenal and fortress-like bunkers, whereupon he takes to the street to kill various Africans and Middle Easterners who have gotten away with violent crimes. While he’s at it, he also starts killing the judges who set these criminals free, and the people who show sympathy for the criminals on social media.
When an army of SWAT policemen come for him, he kills all of them as well. He’s filthy rich, remember. He kills the first two waves of policemen by machine-gunning them from his impregnable bunker. He then escapes through a secret tunnel, and blows up the remaining policemen when they try to follow him. He also comes to a “happy” ending. As the film ends, he has never been caught, and makes a speech about how immigrants have destroyed Europe, how he hopes to continue his work, and how he hopes to motivate “the people” to join in his murderous mission. The blackout is followed by word slides detailing the number of rapes and murders committed by immigrants in Europe. Suffice it to say, if Stephen Miller knew about this film, he would watch it every night, masturbating furiously!
SIDEBAR: Uwe is a provocateur, and his films usually have some touches of dark, transgressive humor, but the only indication that anyone involved with the film has a sense of humor is that one of the judges killed by the vigilante is a 70ish man called Judge Reinhold!

Too bad they couldn’t get Judge Reinhold to play Judge Reinhold. The Rosie Perez comparison for Hertha is dead on, though agree Alona is hotter.
And whenever I think of Miller, I already picture him masturbating furiously, so he could skip this film.
This sounds…surprisingly watchable for an Uwe Boll movie
It is surprisingly well directed. The photography is crisp, and it uses the images very effectively to support the narrative. For example, it showed where the characters were in relation to one another when the SWAT team stormed the bunker. And the U man did edit the film properly to maintain tension in each of the vigilante’s confrontations.
My only quibble with the direction was his overuse of cutaways to past or future events, even in the middle of action scenes that were holding my attention.
That was a roundabout way of saying your comment is spot-on. If I change your word “watchable” to “competent,” I was thinking the same thing myself. The writing is repulsive, but the direction is surprisingly competent.

As someone who generally supports the anti-immigration message I strongly condem the film presenting it as ok to kill cops or judges just for being part of the system.

I certainly will not support ANY of the vigilante’s actions. Why single out killing the police, as horrible as that action is? To do so implies that it is not as bad to kill judges, immigrants and internet commenters. Those actions are all murders. Extra-judicial violence is not the answer to crime in a civilized society. If you want tougher laws, more police, higher police salaries, and quicker deportations within the law, I’ll support the conservative position, albeit tempered by compassion and common sense.
With that out of the way, let me add that the anti-immigration hysteria makes a lot more sense in Europe than it does in the USA. Their situation is more critical and more urgent.
Foreign nationals and immigrants are statistically over-represented in police data for violent crimes in several European countries.
In contrast, documented immigrants in America commit proportionally fewer violent crimes than people born in the States, and (based on estimating the number of undocumented immigrants) illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes than legal ones, presumably because they generally have to live their lives completely under the radar.
That is supported by the broad national statistics, which show that there is actually an inverse correlation between immigration and violent crime. That is to say, historical crime and demographic data through 2022 show that when the immigrant share of the U.S. population increases, the national violent crime rate declines. As a broad generalization, this is not true in Europe.
I’m no expert on European immigration, but their problem doesn’t seem to be how MANY they have, but how OLD they are. One of the big differences between our situation and theirs is that a disproportionate share of their immigrants are young males, not young families or elderly people joining their families. Most crimes everywhere are committed by young male adults.
As PD James pointed out in her interesting dystopian novel, Children of Men, a society without young men is basically a society almost without crime. Unfortunately for the society in her imagination, it is also a society where not enough people are strong enough to do the heavy labor required to build and repair. In contrast, a society filled with young men is likely to have more strong backs, but is also likely to have more crime.
But I may be completely full of it when it comes to generalizing about Europe. I just don’t have time to study that shit. One thing I’n sure of: whatever the cause of their immigrant crime, they need to sort that shit out without vigilantism.

Here’s the difference between a rich criminal and a poor criminal.
The poor criminal might be able to get away with their crimes if they’re lucky but will have minimal means to cover up their crimes and defend themselves if they’re caught.

Armie Hammer being cast as a rich vigilante is kind of ironic, given that he was cast by George Miller to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in his Justice League movie. The film was weeks away from filming when it was canceled by Warner Bros because of the 2007–2008 writers’ strike (as well as budget overruns and Australian tax rebate issues). From the description, it seems like Armie is playing a cross between Batman and the Punisher, who doesn’t mind killing cops. Honestly, I am kind of surprised that even Uwe Boll was willing to cast Armie, but I guess he agrees with P.T. Barnum. “There’s no such thing as bad publicity (as long as they spell your name right).” He might be right in this case. Without Armie, this film would probably have gotten zero publicity. Armie was famous, and not everyone is aware of his gynophagic sexual fantasies. Others who are aware of his cannibalistic kink still might decide to see the film because he’s in it.
He comes from a very wealthy family, but as I understand it, he was completely disinherited by his father because of the scandals. I generally subscribe to the YKINMKATO ethos, but cannibalism is hard to accept.
There was a NYC police officer who had similar sexual fantasies that were revealed by his now ex-wife. The NY Post got tons of “cannibal cop” headlines out of that story. That officer had used his access to a law enforcement database in order to stalk a woman he was writing extremely detailed cannibalistic sexual fantasies about. He was fired for accessing that database for non-official work. What I wondered about that case was what the NYPD would have done with him if he hadn’t broken the law accessing that database. Can you fire a police officer for disturbing sexual fantasies if he has never acted on them? I’m not so sure. That case would have been reminiscent of the Peter Melzer case. Melzer was a teacher at the Bronx High School of Science, teaching 9th-grade Earth Science when I was a student there. He was also the Secretary of the North American Man-Boy Love Association. The Department of Education was aware of this for a decade but took no action because there was no evidence that he ever molested a child. Not long after I graduated, a WNBC reporter did a hidden camera exposé of teachers and other DOE employees, including Melzer, who were NAMBLA members. That is when the DOE attempted to fire Melzer, resulting in Melzer being assigned to the rubber room for almost a decade. I don’t recall if the firing was upheld or if Melzer just retired, but he never taught again. I could see a similar process going on if they tried to fire the cannibal cop because of his fantasies. However, I doubt the NYPD would put him back on patrol. Not without all the tabloid headlines.
Uwe has pointed out in interviews that he hired Armie BECAUSE he was canceled, and added that he would also like to use Kevin Spacey in upcoming projects.
Uwe being Uwe, he probably has some ideological basis for this, but it actually makes some sense economically and artistically. He can hire highly talented, top-tier actors really cheap because they are desperate for work. I suppose he would love to have more Armies available, which means he needs fewer members of the Mandylor family.
The Lone Ranger is also a vigilante. It seems to be in Armie’s DNA.

I assumed the immigrants he killed were all guilty of other violent crimes which wouldn’t make this any different than typical Death Wish type vigilante films which I don’t have a problem with. Respectfully this is irrelevant. If regular citizens kill 10,000 people a year and illegals kill 6000 a year that is still 6000 lives we can save by simply not letting them in.

In addition, your proportions are hyperbolic.That makes it seem like the number of crimes committed by immigrants is somehow similar to the number committed by those born here. It’s not 10,000 versus 6,000. It’s 10,000 versus 200.
To restate your math accurately:
For every 10,000 violent crimes committed by people born here, there are about 800 committed by immigrants, of which about 200 are committed by illegal immigrants. Of those 200, a percentage are committed against other immigrants, due to de facto ghettoization.
So maybe three crimes are committed against the original population, all of which are run on Fox News, while they ignore the 10,000 committed by people born here.
OK, in that last paragraph, I’m committing the same hyperbole I accused you of.
But the real point is that about 2% of violent crimes are committed by illegal immigrants, and of those crimes, many are immigrant-on-immigrant crimes, so eliminating all illegal immigration would only have about a 1% impact on the number of violent crimes committed against the original population.
You can then fairly argue we can save the lives of that 1 percent if we don’t let those immigrants in. The USA has about 17,000-20,000 homicides per year, so we may be talking about 200 lives, and it’s not possible to dispute the claim that saving 200 lives is worthwhile.
But that’s very different from the problems faced by Europe. As opposed to our low percentage in the USA, official statistics show that immigrants are responsible for about half of the criminal activity in Greece (for example)!
Good luck trying to explain logic to these people. If you use their logic, by using a random lottery to remove people by chance and you happen to get violent criminals out of the country by random draw then there’s a better chance of removing a criminal. Who cares if its someone just trying to make it right, as long as it’s not “ME” – kind of the conservative mindset about everything in society – right? Like how these anti-abortion guys are cool with it until they knock up their mistress and need to get it taken care of.
With estimates of tens of thousands of dollars spent per deportation, wouldn’t the money be better spent on, you know, hiring more officers? Creating community outreach and opportunities like the city of Baltimore has done to prevent recidivism before it even starts? Things like that?

There’s generally no sense of proportion. I’m not saying that 200 lives are not worth saving, and I’m all in favor of stopping illegal immigration, but I can’t imagine Fox News running similarly urgent stories when people die because they weren’t inoculated.
If the goal is to reduce crime, there’s likely several dozen other more cost effective ways to do it rather than remove a person from the country at the cost of tens of thousands of dollars and hoping to happen to hit one that may commit a crime.
