Italian drama
In the tradition and mythology of Sardinia, fear and superstition dominate the life of Fidela (Paola Sini), who is born seventh after six other girls and becomes, to her regret, the village witch who cannot have contact with men and therefore cannot have children, but helps other women to give birth to them. When she has to accept her fate, the village priest entrusts her with Bastiana (Syama Rayner), also born as the seventh child. Fidela discovers the joy of feeling like a mother, but in the meantime she must continue to maintain her role in the traditional society where rebelling is impossible and at the same time help her sister Marianna, who cannot fulfill her dream of becoming a mother.
