Köln 75 is a 2025 German music-drama film. The film follows the true story of Vera Brandes, teenage patron saint of the 1970s Cologne music scene, as she makes plans to organize a Keith Jarrett concert in Cologne that eventually became the album The Köln Concert.

Not a whole lot of nudity for the final update for 2023 but there’s quite a bit of nudity in the two movies that do have it: the lesbian romantic drama Let’s Go Below the Rainbow and three hander immigrant love story Tennessine.
Only three golfers in modern times have won four or more majors by a margin of three or more strokes: Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Scottie.

Old Tom didn’t have that difficult a challenge, given that virtually nobody else played golf then. The game was basically contained within Scotland. Anyone was allowed to enter that tournament and only eight people showed up (and two of them dropped out). In those days Prestwick had 12 holes and the competitors played it three times – the equivalent of two rounds at the modern size of 18 holes.
It would be 30 years before a non-Scot would win, and 60 years before an American usurper would win the Claret Jug.
Then the game changed. No Scotsman would win from 1921-1984.
This is a French murder mystery, sometimes marketed in English as Widow’s Walk, which is the name of the source novel.
Wait – the source novel has an English title? Yup. Not only that, it was written in English by an American, namely Andrew Coburn. The French loved this guy more than Jerry Lewis! Although no filmmaker showed any interest in adapting any of his stories into a film in English, three of his novels were adapted into French films. Go figure.
The movie’s premise:
On his return to the French Atlantic coast, Inspector Paul Molinat has to solve a mysterious series of murders with the help of the ambitious Inspector Leroyer. Several bodies are washed up on the beach with gunshot wounds.
For the record, here’s a description of the novel:
The setting is Boar’s Bluff, a seaside resort town in New England in which a widowed police chief is faced with a series of murders that upset the town, the local political operator, and a state police lieutenant. Central to the plot are three widows who rent a large beach cottage from the chief’s girlfriend. An assortment of eccentric and sometimes mean-spirited characters fills the landscape. Many of them have slept with one another. The chief handles the investigation in a laid-back manner, seldom following protocol, and seeming to spend most of his time walking morosely on the beach.
OK, now I get why the French like his work so much. What could be more French than having the detective solve the case by walking morosely on the beach? I presume he was chain-smoking.

Speaking of The Fugs, did you know Ed Sanders is still alive, as I recently discovered? I sort of assumed he couldn’t be because Tuli Kupferberg died at 86 about 15 years ago. Turns out Sanders was much younger. He lives, appropriately enough, in Woodstock, NY.

New Netflix series from Colombia, based on the novel of the same name by Laura Restrepo. Original title: Delirio. Psychological drama/thriller told in flashbacks.
When his wife Augustina falls into delirium, a professor delves into her dark past to piece together her story and uncover the cause of her madness.
This black comedy is a low-budget satire of the fashion industry, shot in mockumentary style.
The title screen begins:
The most expensive fashion advertising campaign in history became the most controversial. All the video footage was destroyed, or so they thought. This film was assembled from recovered digital sources.
The film starts out with a young model having received her first big break as the fresh new face of a big fashion house. When she dies during a photo shoot, the creative people see no reason to abandon their campaign. They just keep dressing their model’s corpse in designer clothing and snapping away. They soon come to realize that she has just the look they’ve been seeking! They also appreciate the fact that she causes far fewer problems than a live model. She never refuses to do nudity, she never needs a break, and she never exhibits any diva traits. The basic premise is that the fashion industry loves the “anorexic, heroin chic” look so much that the recently deceased make the perfect models. Of course, corpses do have their own set of unique problems, like the foul stench and the bloating, but that’s nothing they can’t deal with. How, exactly? Well, I guess you’ll get the picture when I tell you that one of the characters is named, “Felix, the celebrity taxidermist.”
This film is dated 2023, but it was clearly filmed much earlier. I believe is it just a reworking of “Drop Dead Gorgeous” (2010), which I reviewed in 2011. It may even be the same film with a new title. I don’t remember the first one well enough to determine whether there have been any changes, but if there are, they are not significant. IMDb is (unwittingly, I guess) complicit in this ruse and lists the two films separately.
The videos include two other women (Sandra Luesse and Bridget King) who are seen naked briefly.
