Late Thursday, early Friday, December 11-12, outside the Dot Dot Lounge in Hollywood Trivia: In the world of digital singles, Rihanna is the best-selling female artist of all time. I would have guessed Beyonce or Taylor Swift, who are #2 and #3. Those lists are fascinating. Which solo artist has…
This is a Christmas release for family audiences, so there is no nudity or anything close, but as long as I watched the film, I may as well share what there is… Based on a true story, two down-on-their-luck musicians (Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson) form a joyous Neil Diamond…
Obit She was a relic from a distant time. She did her LAST nude scene more than 50 years ago. And the first? France had a more progressive attitude toward nudity than the English-speaking nations, so Bardot had done her first nude scene before most of us were born. She…
The world has become less fun these days. Now Ozzy is gone. A true original that will never be replicated. His work with Black Sabbath is incomparable with the first six albums being a must for metal fans. His solo work is also unlike anything with the first 2 albums he did with Randy Rhoads are high watermarks of the genre. He had an incredible voice and a presence that is original. At least he got to have the greatest send-off that any artist would’ve had.
Hack. Hack. Hack. I love you sweet leaf.
I feel like this outcome was known based on the timing of the Birmingham grand finale. Au revoir.
Go to the place that makes you happy, you crazy fucked up old bastard. You were loved.

Sorry. Me again.
I caught him solo at Sturgis around 2011 and is want to happen at Sturgis, a god awful wind came up. Ozzy leans into it and sings like the black angel he was, hair straight out behind him. At that point I thought he might be immortal.
A few years later, re-uniting with BS, he had aged. The rest was inevitable.
RIP of ur choice you fucked up genius.

mama he’s coming home !!! … one of the greatest ever !!!
I am more or less the right demographic and listened to a lot of music back then and still do today. But I am totally unfamiliar with the music of Black Sabbath and with that of Ozzy Osborne in his solo incarnation. His death is headlining the news and they are playing snippets of his music that are presumably supposed to be well known, but I don’t think I have ever heard it before. The news coverage is sort of confusing me, as I had not realized that he was such a big thing. I have never been much of a ‘metal head’ though, aside from some Led Zeppelin (albeit I am not sure that Zeppelin fit entirely and exactly into the ‘metal’ category). As an aside, I saw Robert Plant and Alison Krauss in the final concert of their world tour at Bluesfest in Ottawa a couple of years ago. They were stellar.
I was into Black Sabbath and saw them live in ’71. I remember the concert fondly and especially my date that night. Always found them interesting although my interest level waned over the years. Ozzy seemed to be a genuinely nice guy.
