Henstridge’s character appeared nude in a 2002 film called Steal, but she used a body double in that film (in fact, two body doubles), for reasons not known to me. She delivered her second baby in September, 2001. That may be part or all of the explanation.
If you were the right age to see Species in a movie theater, that movie was a very big deal. It was scary (enough), gory (enough), and Natasha Henstridge felt like the discovery of the next Sharon Stone in a statement-making nude debut. My friends and I talked about that movie a ton, we all watched it again when it came out on VHS, etc. Thirty (!) years later, it’s easy to forget that Species made a blip on the cultural radar at all.

Not so sure it’s easy to forget. There were 3 sequels and they are all played over and over on various networks.
“Species” reminded me of the movie “Lifeforce” that came out ten years prior.
A stark naked hot alien woman comes to Earth and walks around stark naked and hot and I forget the rest of the plot of either movie…
She still looks good.
