I did not watch the film, but the following sounds like a total spoiler.
The film is Jim’s Story, a French film based on the novel of the same name by Pierric Bailly. It follows Aymeric, a mild-mannered university dropout who works in a series of low-paying jobs, and his relationship with Florence, a former co-worker who is six months pregnant. Florence is happy to have Aymeric around, and he plays the role of father to the unborn child she calls Jim. However, the family is torn apart following the return of the son’s biological father. Florence gradually edges Aymeric out of Jim’s life, and Aymeric never sees his son again.
NOTE:
Not only is the character pregnant, but she also seems to be having sex with Flounder from Animal House.
