It has been more than 20 years since this film was released, and I just can’t remember why this scene never made our annual top 20 list. This may get the trophy for “best scene never to make the list” (in our time frame). The only ones I can recall that might challenge for that award would be Georgina Leeming in Virgin and Ludivine Sagnier in Water Drops on Burning Rocks.
As I look at our 2000 list, this is better than any scene on it, although it would not have made #1 because Katie Holmes was the flavor of the day back then. (She got more than 50% of the votes.)
Oddly enough, Casta did make the top ten that year, but for a completely different film with an inferior nude scene!
