Russian drama. Original title: Агния
Life does not spoil the wayward stove-maker Agniya (Evgeniya Gromova) – she lives in the Far North in a dilapidated, poorly heated house, fishes in an ice hole, and raises her son alone. Her son fell out of a window and limps on a crutch. Seasonal work does not make it possible to save up for new housing, and the local head of administration, Boris, is in no hurry to resettle people. The locals protest him with a poster: “Save us! We are freezing!” Having agreed to Boris’s proposal to build a stove in his hut, Agniya gradually falls in love with the married man, but in the end, uses him.
Oh, sure, it sounds like a depressing tale of unremitting suffering, but by Russian standards, this is a zany lowbrow comedy. It’s kind of the Russian version of Ace Ventura, except that they have to eat the missing pets.

Well, if they are freezing all the time, you have to be impressed that the protagonist gets naked, or at least strips to the waist.
