This Danish film was a darling at Sundance. Original title: “Dronningen”

A successful lawyer jeopardizes her career and threatens to tear her family apart after engaging in an affair with her teenage stepson.

The film was controversial because of a fellatio scene.

Trine Dyrholm talked about the sex in this movie and revealed that in the fellatio scene a prosthetic penis was used: ‘We had the first meeting about the nude scenes very early on with both the producer and the director. They told us what they had in mind. And we agreed that you could go to the producer along the way if there was something someone didn’t want to go along with. We were even sent storyboard illustrations of the scene frame by frame, and the prosthetics that would be used were made. I would almost compare working on nude scenes here to working on a stunt scene. When you have to do that kind of scene, it’s always a bit awkward, but because it was such a safe working space and everything was agreed in advance, it worked.’

The story of loneliness, abandonment, and the marginalization of Gianni, known as “1000 Lire.” The story was inspired by the experiences of Luigi, a native of Matera, also known as “Gino 1000 Lire.” The homeless man spent his entire life asking for a thousand lire, even after the arrival of the euro, for cigarettes or a sandwich, but also for attention or affection, especially after his family kicked him out of their home, leaving him to live on the streets.

Happy Gilmore 2 is the Holy Grail for golf nerds. Most of the greatest golfers of recent times appear in the film, and many of them have lines. Tiger Woods is missing, but just about everyone else is around. In addition to today’s big names like Rory, Scottie, Bryson and Xander, there are also past greats like Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Fred Couples.

In addition to the golfers, there are also many cameos from music giants, comics, sportscasters, athletes from other sports, and Sandler’s usual posse. Basically, the entire movie consists of cameos.

My favorite parts:

  • Long John Daly has more than a walk-on. He is a major character in the film, showing a great sense of humor by playing an exaggerated version of himself. He also turned out to be a halfway decent actor.
  • Bad Bunny is amazing. I had no idea. He’s gifted and graceful, and a very funny man.
  • Travis Kelce is quite funny in a small role as an insincere, obsequious head waiter.

If I wanted to find things to criticize, I could, but what’s the point? Adam Sandler is just trying to show everyone a good time with some mindless entertainment. I mean if you choose to watch a movie with Eric Andre, you have a pretty good idea that isn’t going to be a remake of Schindler’s List. In essence, Sandler is hosting a party. Who goes to the party to criticize the host? That’s poor form. If you want to read the comments of the world’s cynics, edgelords and Eeyores, there’s all you can handle at Rotten Tomatoes.
