CGI is so popular to create visuals that we forget you can make magic with practical makeup. A few years ago I saw a video with a truly incredible fake Leonard Nimoy as Spock for some Star Trek expo, and there’s also the fake Donald Pleasence as Loomis in the latest Halloween films. Billy Zane’s makeup is not a uncanny, but it’s really good.
