Now in HD.
Die, My Love is a 2025 American psychological drama film based on a 2012 Spanish novel, “Matate, amor” by Ariana Harwicz.
Grace and Jackson, a young couple who move from New York City to Jackson’s rural childhood home in Montana, are in search of a quieter life. As they adjust to their new surroundings and become parents, Grace begins to struggle with feelings of isolation and psychological distress. Her deteriorating mental health gradually drives their marriage into unsettling and unpredictable territory.
Now that I’ve seen the film in HD, I realize that these scenes are a lot better than I thought.

Die, My Love had a disappointing box office performance. The opening weekend was $2.6M, despite a wide release in 2000 theaters. The average gross was $1,319 per theater for that week. Assuming 21 screenings per theater and $15 per ticket, that means it played for an average of 4 people.
The total gross was around $10.4 million worldwide, $5.5 million in the USA.That contrasts with the $24 MUBI spent to acquire it.
The weak box office was no surprise. It was never capable of being a crowd pleaser. It’s just an unpleasant, feel-bad movie. It’s one of those films made especially for critics, as indicated by this comparison:
Tomatometer: 74%
Popcorn meter: 46%
CinemaScore: D+
The Jennifer Lawrence character is not just psychologically unhealthy, she’s also just plain mean, like Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford. As she fought against mental illness taking her life, I was rooting for illness. After about 20 minutes I was thinking of Nikki Glaser’s line about Alec Baldwin’s suicidal thoughts: “In his memoir, he bravely admitted that he had once considered suicide and I just wanna say (turns to Baldwin) that meant a lot to me ‘cuz I have also considered … your suicide, and I have some ideas. I even know what I’m gonna wear.”
Unfortunately, it took another hour or more of unnecessary exposition before the inevitable happened.
A few critics pointed out that they softened the character from the novel.
Note to self: avoid that novel.

Ho whaaa a good shot of her ass finaly !
This scene she walk in Front and from behind is incrédible !
I wonder what makes Emma Stone and Jlaw suddenly making all these nude movies, but I’m not complaining. Let’s hope they break the full frontal nudity taboo (aside from a few exceptions) of American actresses. If the big names do it and they have success with it, then others will follow.
Probably a combination of how Hollywood doesn’t really like actresses over 30 and wanting to shed their own association with kid/teen aimed stuff.
I think there are a few factors involved, including being in one’s thirties and having “it’s actually not a big deal” revelations that only come with age. Throw in some thoughts of, “My body is great, but it was FANTASTIC in my twenties and I wish I had been less hung up about it back then.” But also, they’re both actors who have established enough work that they don’t necessarily need to prove anything anymore, so why not just take the stranger stuff that interests them, knowing it’s not going to “define” them. As opposed to a just-starting-out actress, where the risk of an early naked role is that it might be the only job they get that really defines their career. (Think, say, Natasha Henstridge, who despite working regularly for the past thirty years, is largely remembered just for Species.)
Okay, but why them? There were also established actresses in their 30s before them, and they didn’t do such nude roles.
Well, I think there are (and have been) others– say, Halle Berry doing Swordfish and Monsters Ball in her 30s. But I think there’s also a shift because of the shift of power involved nowadays, especially for the two of them in specific. It’s one thing to do a nude scene that largely exists because some producer wants to be in the room when you do it; it’s another when you’re also a producer on the film and you’ve hired an intimacy coordinator to make sure the environment on set fits your comfort level.
Because JLaw was the single biggest victim of the Fappenning and the whole world saw her ahole. This her way of taking her power back as its her “choice”. Now the leaks are pointless. As for Emma Stone, she’s trying to win Oscar’s by making brave choices.
Time is up.
And without showing anything, they won’t get any roles, since they are just not good enough as actresses.
1. They both have “best actress” Oscars.
2. Emma Stone is clothed in her latest film, and she may get another Oscar nomination.
A better explanation is that they are both willing to do whatever is necessary to make a film work.
Jennifer playing a lunatic mom with postpartum depression who doesn’t care about anything, just stands around naked and enjoys sex like an animal lol. Sounds like a great reason for Miss Jennifer
Oh, yes, cannot wait!
Anyone have any reason to believe that is not a merkin in the “full frontal” scenes?
My guess it that it’s a merkin in the sex scene. They usually wear some kind of modesty pouch to avoid genital contact in sex scenes with or without the merkin. I’d need to see the hallway shot in better resolution, but if that’s a merkin it’s one of the more realistic looking ones I’ve seen.
Stanley points out one possible purpose as “modesty pouch to avoid genital contact.” I distinguish that purpose from “What will the audience think of me?” That’s also “modesty”, but a different kind. Which of those purposes is more intended changes what that artistic expression means culturally.
It seems to me the main message is “Yes, I’m a person who’s willing to let you believe it’s OK with me if you think I’d show you my pussy.”
While many other messages may factor in, the secondary one, IMO, is “But I don’t want you to judge my pussy.”
In short, it rejects “showing my body makes me a slut.” While holding onto “My body, my choice.” IOW, “But keep it in your pants, dude, this is really none of your business.”
On a practical business-of-Hollywood level, the difference between full pubic hair/merkin vs. bare can also be the difference between R and NC-17, which can have a huge impact on the amount of money a movie can make, who will show it, etc.
Yes. As has been mentioned already, for most of the cast, business requirements rule, from start to finish. There’s an element of personal choice, but often it just means you do what’s required or you don’t get the job.
OTOH, when your participation is a business requirement, the shoe is on the other foot. But still, some limits are inescapable.
Not to mention that these actors and actresses are becoming producers at an increasingly younger age. Sydney Sweeney has already produced many of her films before, and she’s not even 30 yet. Jennifer Lawrence herself was a producer on No Hard Feelings and this film she just made.
I kinda wondered if it was a contractual thing; full-frontal nudity pays more, but if she has a merkin on it’s not full-frontal so they pay less.
Doubt it, that movie Trance where Rosario Dawson was full shaved was an R (but also the overall movie sucked so not much notice outside fap forums)
Jennifer has finally worked up her courage to not being ashamed on going fully nude since the last movie she did, I’mnglad she finally has, now it’s time for other actresses to do the same. Working up the courage to have no shame on going nude themselves or wherever the rumors would say, I can’t tell how many of those who should be nude in their next film’ it’s gotta be up to them if they can’ I look forward to seeing who else will it be next!
Julia Garner in Madonna biopic, woo hooooooo
In the end I think it all comes down to, they wanna work with great directors, Lynne Ramsay (Die My Love) & Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things/Kinds of Kindness), who just happen to have brazen nude scenes, Emma started out with teen sex comedies where supporting actresses may have flashed but not her “girlfriend” lead – also J.Law’s underrated nudity in Red Sparrow was from the same director who did most of the Hunger Games movies, so she already had a trust there
It sounds like an worthwhile movie, but I don’t know whether I could take the bleakness as described by Scoop. There is some talk that J. Law’s performance might be Oscar-worthy, and I am hesitant to miss out on that. I’ll consider it.
Just saw the film and… FUCK ME! It was just fucking insane and I fucking love every minute of it. Jennifer Lawrence just raised her game and then some.
I’m with the void – I agree with everything Scoop said, except I love it, but I love abrasive art films with naked women (RIP David Lynch), but all this comes down to is, J. Law is down for any crazy noods as she begins her MILF era…
Variety interview: “I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it. I wanted Lynne [Ramsay] to have total freedom artistically… I think being pregnant took a lot of, like, vanity anxiety away. Before ‘No Hard Feelings,’ I was dieting and not eating carbs and working out. I was pregnant [for ‘Die My Love’]. Like, what was I gonna do? Not eat? I was working 15 hours a day. I was just tired… I remember, like, them sending over a close-up of cellulite and being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’ And I was like, ‘No. That’s an ass.’”
And her body in that film…. perfect. I hope she gets another Oscar nod but I watched it mainly for Lynne Ramsay who is one of favorite filmmakers. “Morvern Callar” is her best film still.
Right on – Samantha Morton, & also that hot Scottish girl who looked like Gwyneth Paltrow, I miss indie movie noods
There;s going to be a spike in net traffic when that gets released.
Always been a fan of JLAW since hunger games. Most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. At one point back in 2015 I thought I’d never be able to see her naked on silver screen. Then finally God listened and she did Mother movie. And then Passengers movie. And then red sparrow. And then no hard feelings and then die my love. She got naked in all of them. And the level of nudity got increased successively. When I look 15 years back to the time I first saw JLAW and decided to be a fan, I think I made a right decision.
Also I’m very certain that JLAW is going to win the 2025 nude celeb of the year title just like in 2023. Alas she lost to sally hawkins in 2018 and came at second place. That was biggest snub ever, her nude scene was the best that year by far. How can you see those asscheeks pressed on the table and not vote for them.
Go look for her leaks. You haven’t seen anything yet.
Well….the book is less than 150 pages…so while bleak it’s readable.
IMH (knowing something about these things) the “pubic hair” (both in the “walking down the corridor” scene and the brief sex scene on the floor) is shading added in post-production – there is no detail there (esp. noticeable in the second scene I mention) compared with the rest of the picture.
Tit shots/ass shots appear genuine.
