I have to admit that I had no idea how popular she is. Trump has at least a slight edge over all the other Democratic alternatives, but this poll shows him losing to Ms. Obama in landslide territory (11 points).
That’s pretty amazing when you consider that: (1) voters really have no idea where she stands on the issues (with a few exceptions); (2) she has consistently insisted that she has no interest in politics.
Come to think of it, maybe point (2) is the very reason people like her. Many people say that the greatest weakness of our system is that anyone who would want to be President should not be.
Gimme Gavin Newsom . He’s the perfect foil to Trump. Younger, smarter, better looking. He also banged Trumps daughter in law, something Trump himself only wishes he could do. Worst Trump can do to Newsom is call him a typical California liberal, a moniker I just don’t see sticking to a guy that looks like a cross between Mitt Romney and Patrick Bateman. If I remember correctly, Trump’s NY Drivers License lists him as 6’2″, making him the only person ever to gain height in old age.
Kidding aside, it’s pretty well established that Trump is 6’1″. Pics of him with Obama or Vince McMahon, when both are standing on level ground with no perspective issues, show them just about exactly even, and those two guys are both 6’1″.

I’m 99% sure the first attack would be him sending covid patients to nursing homes leading to older people getting covid and dying. If you look through center-right commentators at the time, it was pretty huge, much less among those further right. But granted, it was an insane policy.

I think you under-estimate how much people would care about it, especially as more than few have had people die in their lives from covid, and this policy (he even offered money per covid patient taken in) was quite insane.
But anyway, just look through Twitter and Mastodon, there’s more than few people (and “communities”) who care about it, who still mask, etc, and who think we should go back to masking/lockdowns/etc.

The relationship between a President and his Secretary of State is truly a critical one, while the VP is basically a meaningless position unless the Senate is split 50-50 (or the President dies). In my youth, LBJ went more than a year without a VP and nobody really even seemed to notice or care. Before the 25th Amendment, the vice-presidency was often vacant. James Madison had no VP for three whole years, and John Tyler topped that by never having a VP in his entire four years (minus a month) in office! Shortly thereafter, in the six years from 1851 to 1856, the country had a VP for only 25 days! Given that the position is basically a sinecure, the country was unaffected by any of those instances.
(There were a dozen other times when the position was vacant!)

I don’t really expect an average person commenting on politics to follow it, but censorship precedents have already been set – just not from the state.
Firstly, Google and Apple already have a monopoly on app stores – they in fact got sued by Epic over it, and the jury ruled in Epic’s favor. These app stores have rules that go far beyond what’s legally required, thus by the very nature of it, leading to censorship. Some relatively free speech apps – like Telegram, for example – have had to restrict access to various channels in the version of the app that’s available on Google Play store. In other words, you literally can’t access content that Google doesn’t want you to see. Most recently, that’s been the case for channels used by Hamas (they remain available elsewhere). The creator of it has also had interviews btw, talking about why he left both Russia & US, with the latter trying to get some of his workers to install backdoors they could use.
Secondly, Cloudflare and such have already escalated censorship, going again beyond what’s legally required. So have hosting providers, banks, etc. We’ve seen this with various sites in last few years, which in some cases led to some hosting sites in other countries, or for that matter, creating their own hosting. The most recent example (and a good one at that) would be KiwiFarms. But the funny thing about it is that while the owner has had many challenges, including moving at times to .onion (which itself had its issues), they’ve managed to come back w/o needing Tor and such, and continue to function.
We’ve seen the same with various torrent sites too, where censorship tends to be effective temporarily, but not long-term. So even if this site was “banned” (lol as if you couldn’t access it with VPN), chances that it (or nudity in general) would disappear would be close to nil. But there’s no doubt that censorship efforts, especially from corporations, banks, etc will continue.
For what it’s worth, going after making of pornography would to more to stifle it domestically & its spread than anything else. Onlyfans alone is a billions dollars website.
Some people say ‘a dead person would make a better President than whoever is in the White House.’ Maybe this could be a chance to find out. 🙂

Maybe instead of yucking it up at events with George Clooney and Abigail Disney and whoever else made their billions through asset manipulation instead of actually doing something that warranted some sort of merit in society, they should have realigned around the idea to back the guy who could destroy Trump on economics and the working class instead of the precious billionaires who smile through their teeth, that might throw some social issues a token nod and clap.
