I didn’t have time to fact-check all of these claims, and I think their concept of “funny” differs from mine, but I did get a surprise or two.
Example 1:
In a 2008 survey, 58% of British teens thought that Sherlock Holmes was a real person. On top of that, 20% thought that Winston Churchill was not.
Example 2:
Nobody knows who invented the fire hydrant because the patent for the hydrant was lost in a fire.

I’ve only read 1, but while it’s true that Wojtek was a bear that travelled with a Polish army unit, he was a small starving bear that a unit found on patrol and “adopted”. He was essentially the troop mascot.
So yeah, take these with a grain of salt
