It’s a gut-wrenching scene with a fully committed performance from Jessie.
She is now considered an absolute lock to win the Best Actress Oscar. If you want to place a bet on actresses:
(Odds are expressed as ratio of amount won to amount wagered. In other words, a contract with Rose Byrne costs 3.1 cents, and you would therefore win 96.9 cents if she wins, or 31-1.)
Jessie Buckley 1-24
Rose Byrne, 31-1
Renate Reinsve, 165-1
Emma Stone, 199-1
Kate Hudson, 249-1.
(There’s a good payoff if you want to bet “no” on Jessie, 23-1. Good luck with that.)
SIDEBAR: In recent days, Michael B. Jordan has passed Timotheêéèëēĕěẽėẹęẻ Chalamet as the slight favorite to win Best Actor, thus dampening the latter’s hopes to win the ẹęẻ he needs to complete the the “e” perfecta for his first name.
Video. WARNING: It’s a heartbreaking, brilliantly performed scene, but it’s an an immense download, and there’s no real, visible nudity. (You see it brightened and enhanced in the stills above).
Jessie has appeared here several previous times, with a bit of nudity in four other films: Romeo and Juliet (2021); Wicked Little Letters (2023); Beast (2017); The Lost Daughter (2021). She also posed naked with a fish.

I don’t often cry at movies, but I cried throughout this scene, and in a number of other scenes in Hamnet.
She also briefly shows nip in the new The Bride movie, although not largely attractive (similar to Gwyneth’s scene in Marty Supreme).
More attractively, there’s a couple Peta or art photos out there were she models with a fish and an her tits out.
The problem is, she doesn’t like cats, so….
