It is pretty disgusting the way the Dodgers just buy every star. There was some parity with the spending between the big market teams for a while, but the Dodgers completely destroyed that. I see no reason to have any respect for a team that just outspends and no reason to pay any attention to the world series. I’ll enjoy the rest of the Blue Jays and Mariners and then the season is over as far as I’m concerned.
The Yankee’s and George Steinbrenner did it for years! The Chicago Cubs bought players and won a title in 2016, The Lakers, Celtics, Marlins …. if I owned a team and had the money I too would get the best players available, it’s called free market! I would do everything I could to help my team win a world title.
To be fair, the Dodgers aren’t buying players so much as they’re financing them. Bobby Bonilla Day won’t hold a candle to 2020s Dodgers Day.
The Brewers also got 1 run each game.
Whatever they paid for Ohtani it was a steal. On top of his performance, he’s probably bringing in $Bs in merchandise, ticket says and broadcast rights. Now wish one of the perennial contenders would buy Trout while he can still shine. He’s heading into Ernie Bank territory
