1982 was one of the greatest years for nude scenes, and this may have been the best of the lot. That’s probably understating the case for this nude performance. There’s no reason to restrict its dominance to 1982. It is truly one of the best nude performances in history. The only drawback is that Phoebe used a body double for some of the sex scenes (those scenes are not pictured below). The swimming and showering scenes are all Phoebe, however, as is the scene where she sneaks across the room to snatch a peek at the manly parts of a sleeping Willie Aames.
That last kick in the ocean swimming scene was always a favorite pause moment. I hope we get a true 4K remastered version of this movie someday.
One thing I noticed was that Phoebe had an all-over tan. It would’ve been inappropriate for her to have bikini tan lines (unlike some other period movies), so I guess to erase them she either had to use a tanning bed or spend some time naked outside. Or that’s just her natural skin color, since she’s part Filipino. Or both.
