I don’t know who these two are, but it’s a cute scene:
The plans for the fifth American Pie film have been on and off. I’m a sucker for these films, even the straight-to-video sequels, so I’ll be all over that, even though I fear that the current climate will castrate the film and fail to produce the raunchy fun essential to the vibe of the series.
Now, more than ever, we must have the raunch!
I mean, I have the same soft spot for these films, because all of them deliver at least some old-school raunch (heck, it was “old school” when the first one came out 26 years ago), while at the same time remembering to be films with a plot and actual characters.
They will have to wait until the climate is right which is probably why they’ve been delaying doing another one. There have been some big changes in Hollywood studios recently, but too early to tell if they’re ready to do this kind of film again. It would be appropriate for American Pie to be the first to bring it back as it was probably the first to bring this kind back in 1999 after the big studios stopped doing them around 1984.
