Most of the database has been restored.
There are some quirks from things that could not be restored:
1. The old posts are all there, but they are undated and uncategorized. That’s inconvenient, but the search engine finds them all.
2. The old polls are all gone. That’s disappointing, but the only thing we lost is the numerical tallies.
3. When Other Crap posts link to additional Other Crap posts, the links sometimes don’t work. That is related to the loss of the date. For example, if an internal link leads to https://othercrap.com/2020/10/its-matilda-de-angelis-topless-again/, it will return a 404 error, even though the post still exists. (It is now at https://othercrap.com/its-matilda-de-angelis-topless-again/ because of the date problem.) There’s no way I can fix those in batch, so I’ll just have to edit them as I find them. If you get a 404 error on that kind of link, you can get to the link you want by stripping away the date indicator in your address bar as I demonstrated above, or you can just search again for what you want, because the search engine does return the NEW url.
4. The old comments are gone, even though the post may tell you there are, for example, 10 comments.

Glad you’re back
Woo hoo
Where is the comments link at the bottom of each post? It’s gone, so no way to comment or read comments for each post. The only way I was able to make this comment was by clicking on the “latest comments” on the right side and see that comment and use the link below. I assume you will fix this soon?
This WordPress theme has a slightly different layout. You have to click on the post name (the part in bold), then read the comments (or add to them at the bottom).
I will have to figure out how to edit the template to make it more user-friendly.
Thanks. I actually tried that, but there’s so much space between the final line of you post and the comments section that I stopped scrolling before I got to the comments section (your “related posts” entries above the comments are HUGE).
The trouble with this way now is that I don’t know if there are any comments to read until I go the trouble of clinking on the post name first, and then scrolling thru the post a second time just to find out that there are NO comments. It is a pain since I like to see the comments even if I have no comments of my own on a particular post. But I suppose there may be a method to your madness, maybe you want us to click on each post? I sure liked seeing “no comments” or “two comments” at the bottom of the original post.
As long as I’m doing a little kvetching, I humbly request that you go back to your old method of doing external links, and have them open up in a new tab rather than leaving your site to go to the external one. When that site has multiple pics to view, it is virtually impossible to get back to your site because clicking the back button on the browser only gets you to the previous pic you were looking at the on the site you sent us to, and not to your site.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
But, but, but all my previous comments are/were priceless! 😛
A suggestion: maybe having this post (or something similar) as a sticky at the top of page?
