On the menu here tonight: French Canadian tourtière (a sort of meat pie). My wife is making the pie crust and assembling it all, while I have made the filling, which – as is traditional in some versions of tourtière – includes wild game meat. In this case it is some venison from a deer that one of our friends hunted, mixed with ground pork and ground beef, potato, onion and garlic and a whole lot of spices.
