Gory horror comedy. 5.4/10 at IMDb.
A coven of vampires is hunting on dating apps where they meet vampire hunters and schedule dates. The nights that unfold are action-packed modern horror madness.
The film features plenty of performers who were popular in the 80s and 90s, although you don’t think much about them now. There’s Tom Berenger, Mena Suvari and Stephen Dorff, for example.
Suvari, now 47, turns in a high-camp performance in the starring role, as the infamous Countess Elizabeth Bathory. She owned 1999, with star turns in a popular comedy (American Pie) and Oscar’s Best Picture (American Beauty). She got a BAFTA nomination that year as the best supporting actress.
Berenger is 77 now, and barely identifiable. Let’s just say that if life were a Western movie, he’d be driving the chuckwagon. He still acts constantly, and seems content to play minor roles in bad movies, even though that seems below the pay grade of an actor with an Emmy and an Oscar nomination.
