In the early 1970s, starting when she was a teen, she was a regular on Upstairs, Downstairs, a prestigious British drama series. Set in a large townhouse in central London, the series depicted the servants (downstairs), and their masters, the family upstairs. It took place between the years 1903 and 1930, and revealed the decline of the British aristocracy. The series was seen in the USA on PBS.
When the filming of that series had concluded, she opted to change her image to demonstrate she could be cast in sexy adult roles, and she did so in dramatic fashion, first with a 1975 topless pictorial in Mayfair magazine, and then with a string of topless roles in the late 70s.
Although her nudography ends in 1979, she is still working today at age 70. You’ve probably heard about the upcoming Reagan biopic with Dennis Quaid as the ol’ Gipper. Lesley-Anne will play Margaret Thatcher in that flick.

Never knew about Mayfair, thanks for those. Such a beautiful woman. Was also quite lovely in some British horror films in the early 70s like Countess Dracula.
Way back in the day, I used to shop in a magazine shop which had every form of publication imaginable. I’d never heard of Mayfair but was well aware of the gorgeous Ms. Down, prime PBS crumpet. But when I saw the “Miss Georgina (her role on Upstirs Downstairs) undresses” on the cover, I figured it was worth taking a chance on a shrink-wrapped mag. Had no regrets. She and Lynne Frederick were basically the “Roses of England” in the 70s.
Lynne Frederick. That name is a blast from the past. Shame she had such a tragic life.
