She was a relic from a distant time. She did her LAST nude scene more than 50 years ago.
And the first?
France had a more progressive attitude toward nudity than the English-speaking nations, so Bardot had done her first nude scene before most of us were born. She first exposed a breast in a 1952 film called Manina, la fille sans voiles (literally: Manina, the unveiled girl).
No breasts were visible in the 1959 UK version (Manina, the Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter), or the 1958 North American version (Manina, the Girl in the Bikini), but the Americans were still shocked by Bardot’s bare midriff. (They might have seen that coming from the film’s title. Did they know what a bikini was?)
The breast was seen in the French version, but Bardot’s father was not happy with that. She was 17 at the time, and her contract specified that the film was not to show “indecent images.” He sued. He lost.

Indeed. While I do not agree with her far-right views from the last few years of her life. She will be missed and she will forever be an icon.
Interestingly, though, and it does not excuse her actions, she was anti-Muslim because they sacrificed animals. So… not for what they were, but what they did.
thevoid99, it was not just from her later years. It was a credit to Newfoundlanders that she did not end up in a can of seal meat. Another celeb crusading for something that they did not understand. The Atlantic cod stock was seriously depleted, largely due to French over fishing and the seals both added to the problem and offered an alternative source of income. But she took it as a photo op and blundered ahead.
It was also due to overfishing from Canadians. Blaming others and other animals is easy, but it was hardly true.
Evidently, her husband Roger Vadim did not see the bare boob version either. In his book “Bardot, Deneuve, Fonda” he complained that she is only seen a bikini in this film while he managed to get her naked (modestly) in “And God Created Woman.” I think he filmed nude scenes for all his wives and girlfriends. He’s like John Derek.
I’m shocked … that Vadim could write a book. I hope his books were better than his film scripts.

Eh it was mostly gossip about his relationship with his ex wives. It was a quick read. Poor Annette Stroyberg was merely a footnote in the book since she was the wife between his his first marriage to Bardot and his relationship with Deneuve. I thought she was stunning in Blood and Roses as the vampire Carmilla.
Hottest woman who ever lived, which somewhat makes up for the fact that after she retired, she was horribly racist & palled around with the French versions of MAGA
I never knew she was still alive after all this time cuz I never had the time to know more of her when I should’ve’ but at least she might’ve went peacefully in her sleep, let us not forget her days of whi she was’ even in one movie where she takes a woman in bed. That was the best part of who she was then, be at peace now gorgeous!
