This is a Polish biopic that is distributed in English as “Kulej: All That Glitters Isn’t Gold.” The Guardian called it “Poland’s answer to Raging Bull.”

The story of Jerzy and Helena Kulej, the most vibrant married couple of the 1960s in Poland. He is a legendary boxer, a two-time European and eight-time Polish champion, the only Polish boxer to have won two Olympic golds, and though never knocked out in the ring, collapsing many a times in his private life. She is a strong woman, always there by his side, but refusing to stay in his shadow forever.

In this scene Kulej sees a woman taking a shower through the bathroom door, with her back turned to him. He mistakes her for his wife, but in reality it was a student taking care of their son.

Geologist Lena returns to her hometown of Wałbrzych to find her missing daughter, with whom she lost contact many years ago and who is now suspected of abducting several children.

While there, she searches for the missing vowels in Wałbrzych. Her search ultimately leads her to Aiea, Hawaii.

By the way, if you can trick the mayor, pictured below, into saying Wałbrzych backwards, the town returns to the fifth dimension for 90 days.

Fake Profile (Spanish: Perfil falso) is an erotic Colombian melodrama series with a soap opera flavor – cheating lovers, deceptions, intrigue. I didn’t watch enough of it to determine whether there were evil twins, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were. It’s that kind of show.

To be frank, I didn’t find the erotica very erotic either. The scenes are dark, the staging hides most of the sexiest body parts, and the the editing is jumpy.

Trippy, surreal comedy starring Keith Morris and the rest of the punk band OFF!

Keith, an elderly sex shop owner, falls for a younger woman who visits his store looking for a gift. When their relationship turns physical, Keith’s failure to perform leads him to a strange erectile dysfunction doctor who offers hope in the form of an experimental drug. The experience gives Keith much more than renewed manhood. It also provides a glimpse into a parallel universe where he is not only the singer of the band OFF!, but also the target of an advanced AI species that will stop at nothing to prevent the group from making a new album, which holds the key to an awakening of human consciousness.

Yes, it is as weird and non-linear as that sounds.

The Protagonists is a docudrama that follows around a film crew’s examination of a grotesque murder that took place in 1994 London.

An Italian movie crew goes to London to see a very close friend of the director, Tilda Swinton, who leads them on the trail of an actual event that took place a few years before – about two teenagers who murdered a complete stranger simply to prove themselves that they had the courage to do it.

The actual director of the film is Luca Guadagnino, who did (among other things) Challengers and Call Me By Your Name. The Protagonists was his first feature-length film.

I was a fan of Hunziker back in the day, but I can’t recall ever having seen this before. What can I say? Johnny Moronic is the master of the 1990s!

2024 French short

Six o’clock in the morning, the day begins. A young woman throws a glass of water in the face of a man sleeping on the couch, before throwing him out. Then begin twenty-four hours in Souheila’s apartment, under the influence of the man she loves. As if trapped in a vicious cycle, Souheila never ceases to oscillate between abandonment in this destructive relationship and the desire to get rid of it.
