Medium-length (48 min) Danish drama about a naive young woman who gets in over her head within the sleazy world of adult content creation. It’s a graduation film from the Danish Film School.
Mathilde borrows money from her mother to attend a sort of masterclass for erotic OnlyFans creators, which will culminate in a live broadcast of group sex. She didn’t catch the latter detail until she left for the trip with four other creators. Several of the women in the film are former OnlyFans creators themselves, and this gives an almost documentary credibility to the scenes where we follow the women discussing content, drinking champagne, and exercising on the terrace. You hope to the end that Mathilde will run away, especially when a sleazy cameraman and a porn actor show up to make live-streamed content. Mathilde has an uncertainty in her gaze that makes us sympathize with her, but in fact none of the women are unsympathetic, after all. Director Astrid Söderberg is open and anthropological in her approach to an internet-mediated world of botox, silicone, dildos and kinky fantasies.
