New Russian horror film. Original title: Отражение тьмы (literally “reflection of darkness”)
A group of young people arrives to a remote village where they encounter an ancient spirit – a succubus – that can take human disguise. It feeds on one’s deepest fears and brings out the darkest side in people.
… as demons are wont to do.
I don’t much care for these recent Russian films, but I have to concede that (1) Russia has no shortage of beautiful women, and (2) Russian directors have no trouble getting them naked. It’s like re-living the American films of the 1980s, except that people are speaking Russian.

5.1 rating on Russian reviews site out of 1,000 people. Shame. All these Russian & Chinese movies that tend to mimic western movies either do poorly or simply end up sucking. It’s a shame, as Slavic (and Chinese) mythology is quite rich, and lots of movies could be based on it. China at least tries, but Russia not so much lately. Hot women though.
