I don’t think that could be right either. That’s only 4/10 of a pound per person. The population of the USA loses approximately that amount every night, between bedtime and the ol’ wake-up call. You’d think that universal cheap Ozempic would be more effective than a good night’s sleep.
The average American is about 12 pounds over the healthy range on the BMI chart. A reasonable goal would be to cut that in half. So six pounds per person times 250 million adults would be about 1.5 billion pounds.
Could he have meant to say 1.35 billion and misread the decimal place?
