AKA: La Cocinera De Castamar
Spanish mini-series from Antena 3, distributed globally by Netflix.
Set in early-18th-century Madrid, the plot follows the love story between an agoraphobic cook and a widowed nobleman. Although based on the novel of the same name by Fernando J. Múñez, the obvious reference in this series is to the classic by Choderlos de Laclos, Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
There is some nudity. Although it is not memorable, it might have been if not for the dim, monochromatic cinematography. It’s not exactly in black-and-white, but you would not be far off if you said it is in pink-and-brown.
