Slasher comedy from the USA.
In the wilds of LA’s Griffith Park lurks a monstrous killer, a feral woman, raised by wolves, now stalks and kills the visitors to the park. Inept Australian big game hunter Nigel B. Shearing has been hired to capture the beast to end her reign of terror.
(There are no wolves in Griffith Park, by the way. There are coyotes and bobcats, and an occasional puma, but no wolves. I guess the wolves raised her elsewhere and she elected to go Los Angeles for advanced studies.)
On the positive side: I have to say that the film has guilty pleasure values. The photography is crisp (always a plus when the lead actress is naked through the entire film), and the guy who plays the big game hunter is pretty funny. He’s also the writer and director.
On the negative side: It features Andy Dick as himself, which is never a good sign. As Oscar Wilde said from beyond the grave, “The only thing worse than Andy Dick as himself is Andy Dick not as himself.” I think Oscar was wrong, at least in theory. That’s not the only thing worse. There also could be “somebody else as Andy Dick,” in the unlikely event of an Andy Dick biopic (a Dick pic for short).
As for the nudity, it’s ubiquitous, but a bit disappointing nonetheless. It basically consists of the feral female wandering around and attacking random characters who have no back-story. FF is topless throughout the attacks, but I suppose she’s not all that feral, because she wears clothing below her waist. In other words, once you see her topless in the first attack, you can skip to the end, because it’s just the same scenario again and again, except for a brief butt shot at the end.

Kate has a good sense of humor. Here is her self-description:
She is an actress, writer, singer, model, producer, trumpet player, pole dancer, political journalist, and general burden on Los Angeles. She was born and raised in New York City, where she never learned to drive or swim, and instead spent her childhood performing at venues like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Madison Square Garden. She went to the University of Southern California in journalism, musical theatre, and film because her favorite scene from “The Graduate” was filmed there. During her time at USC, she played trumpet in the marching band and for Gwen Stefani at the Hollywood Bowl. She also used to appear on TMZ, and sang on a cruise ship in Oceania. She has yet to recover from both experiences.

Norm MacDonald lived in Santa Monica and never drove.
Is that example really applicable tho? He’s a Canadian (where they have,, you know, actual mass transit) who emigrated to the U.S. after he was already a professional comedian / comedy writer, both of which would’ve provided transportation as part of the gig. Just sayin’ …. entertainment folk aren’t too far removed from the upper class in that they needn’t ever drive – someone will drive them, usually at someone else’s expense.
He first moved to L.A, in 1992, when he was more of a nobody than Kate Lý Johnston is today, but he still got by.
When I dog sit for my daughter in L.A., I never rent a car. Between light rail, buses and the occasional Uber, I have no problem getting anywhere I want to go. I’ve even taken my golf clubs with me. That said, I don’t try to get to Disney or Universal or Knott’s or LaBrea because – why would I?
(It must have been more difficult for Norm in 1992, pre Uber.)
I have rented a car to take trips from LA to other parts of the state, but the portion of the trip from the car rental office to the end of the LA metroplex convinced me that I don’t want to drive in the L.A. area, or really anywhere in the Southern California coastal area, so I’m kinda with Norm and Kate on this one.
The age of man is over. The age of the Uber has begun.
Please. Times are hard enough. Don’t raise the ominous specter of a Dick pic. Some dimbulb Hollywood Dickhead might just be lazy enough to green-light it.
